I’d never have anything to read then!
/pout
You can read all the people calling me a troll because they don’t know what words mean.
They tend to be the same.
Oh and Ivanka.
I agree with most of the people here: there should be no appeals for any reason. You signed up for this and you know the risks… even if you didn’t before. I am fully aware that a faulty DC could cause my character to die. That knowledge is incorporated into my playstyle. Sure, I can’t take all precautions, but again, that’s the risk.
The only appeal-type of thing that I would consider is if it was directly caused by Blizzard themselves and affected the whole realms. Like everyone died or something. Then yeah, they should probably revert that. I just don’t see that happening.
Any issues on your end though? No appeals for any reason! Life is hardcore too, good luck appealing to death if you got knocked out while falling into a lake. Would have totally made it out if you were in your senses! Your char essentially had a stroke and died in the water lol
That is the point of HC. Do people just NOT read the warning text given when you create a character…FFS
There are weird connection issues sometimes when you’re underwater. Do you remember if you were holding space bar to swim up when you dc’d? Being underwater is not considered safe unless you have an elixir of water breathing or get water breathing from a warlock.
I was dueled in Booty Bay. I wont the duel with about 50% hp left on my 45 warrior. About three seconds after the duel ended, all of the Booty Bay guards began to attack me. That is how I was killed, chase out of the city and killed in the ocean by guards, because I won a duel. I am a fury spec warrior. I ended the duel by hitting a 950 execute. No bleeds/dots on the target. The opposing player in the duel was also alliance. My death was due to blizzard spaghetti coding.
For those of you who are going to respond with “Don’t go duel in hardcore,” dueling is a function of the game. There are death duels and normal duels. Blizzard should be able to code the game to not result in the death of either player in a friendly duel. However, this is not even the same as that. Nobody died from the duel. Guards killed me character after the fact lol. Crazy to lose that much play time to something like this.
Deaths are deaths… that being said, I’ve experienced this sort of partial disconnect (chat works, but can’t buff/loot and my character obviously isn’t updating location server-side.
I had no idea an addon could cause this - but I haven’t changed what I’ve been using in a long time. It’s concerning on this game mode.
No
You’re Dead
Go Agane!
Just died to a server d/c
Couldnt log back in
Died fighting a mob
Zero percent my fault
100% Blizzards fault im dead
This is now a waste of time to play this mode
The worst death to date has been killing mobs in Swamp of Sorrows and unknowingly getting PVP flagged by a mob I did not attack and later getting ganked by a player while killing a pack and at low but manageable health. While I’m sure this was funny on the other end, it was disappointing not knowing I was flagged at the time.
don’t ever press the space bar to swim up that’s what causes this dumb bug. lesson learned
Cannot help OP - but for informational purposes to anyone reading - the drunk effect and movement can sometimes cause issues, which are worse under water than on land (but can occur in both mediums)
You thought you were a hardcore gamer, turns out you are not and thats ok.
This game mode is not for everyone.
In the case of a mass server outage, where entire raids wipe, I’m for it. That’s about it though. Easily proven from Blizzard’s own data.
More generally, any deaths that occur during a full server crash.
I’m against any exception because, once you make even a single exception, people will demand all the exceptions.
We all agreed to the ToS for hardcore before creating a character, and that includes network and hardware issues such as D/Cs. Don’t like it? Don’t play hardcore.
please troll elsewhere, a mass server outage is not even an exception, it’s customer service.
There’s nothing that kills the community more than “another raiding guild got wiped on server crash”
Very few people remain afterwards, and for good reason.
But it IS an exception. The ToS for hardcore covers such things.
Yes, stating facts and explaining one’s position is trolling. Grow up.

it’s a community killer
Quoting yourself then pasting the quote as a response to your quote of yourself? Mmmkay.
Hardcore doesn’t require much in the way of a “community” so, yeah, you don’t have much of an argument there.
But to raid wipes, they happen regardless of DCs and everyone in that raid knew the rules and the consequences. It’s what makes Hardcore, well, HARDCORE. You obviously are not cut out for it.
