Bloodsail lost interest for me when the high level Warrior in my guild that was doing an all-grey-item challenge died in front of me. Dude has his addon modified to not report it or something.
I was wondering why someone who was so noob-ish (He’d brag about not using keybinds, macros or addons outside the hc addon because “only bad players need them”) had actually made it as far as he did.
Excited for actual Hardcore. The people posting about their “World First Naxx” crap this week are so embarrassing

And nobody in the guild cared that he rezzed and kept playing? Yeah, I’m calling BS
no, there are not a LOT of players who do that. most people who have that attitude just, you know, don’t play HC
You know we can see the Discord, right?
Because the addon didn’t announce that he even died, it was my word against his.
It’s not an uncommon issue, the Hardcore Discord tries to cover it and say it’s impossible but the addon is very easy to modify, and you can easily google how to.

ok, but do you understand that the edited addon will prevent you from verifying your level 60?
In what way? The verification you send them is also modifyable, theres examples of this. It’s a game of whackamole. The authors of the addon change how it works, and the day of people see what is different with change tracking and cheat it again
A LOT of people game the addon

you are believing a tale spun by people who just irrationally hate the HC community yeah people try to game the system but it’s not nearly as numerous or effective as you think it is.
I say it will be a Flap, fad and flop.
Its bad enough for me who has done the same quests in each level 1 to 20 zone several times over, and has died several times super early on over silly circumstances that are totally my own fault. I do not see HC as an appealing gamemode for me. I can see the appeal, but not for me. I could be a jerk and say, “Who wants to do the same quests, kill the same mobs, do the same song and dance over and over again, just to get to 60 to then die from a wipe in a raid?” And then follow up with the response of, “People who have been playing the same game over again for the past 19 years would only play HC.” But, after thinking that, it really doesn’t matter.
The way i see it broadly, there are players who are just hurt, left abandoned by the company that gave us something so great 19 years ago, and has only just been getting worse as time goes by. There are those who “huff copium” and thinking that everything will be okay, and those who think the opposite who ultimately just “doom” every aspect of the game. If i had it my way, id want Blizzard to release seasonal servers with very little changes, for each of the early expansions on a rotation, then just keep it there till inevitably the company and the Warcraft IP dies.
Thats all i have to say about this.
Thank you for your replies.
I think itll be popular because its not really hardcore. Knowing you can transfer your character after death without losing it is a huge change.
Yeah it’s way more hardcore when you just keep appealing your deaths.
I’m excited about it. I personally think that the hardcore add-on took the MMO out of MMORPG. I think that the ability to transfer your dead character to a normal realm is a really good addition, and will encourage more people to try out the HC server.
I’m more exited than I thought I’d be. Fresh is the main thing I’m looking forward to though. Era’s great but dungeon boosting kind of ruins it for me. If they’d get rid of boosting then I’d be a lot more interested in era.
HC will have its own boom and then level out. It is currently undeniably a fad but that isn’t a bad thing at all.
People will play it, there will be those who stick with it long term. Either those who make it to 60 without dying and those who take a few tries will stick around. Hopefully enough stick around to keep a raiding scene going at 60.
