Harassment

So wait, we cannot bring a raid party of 40 to dance around the RP event? All while saying nothing since our order has taken a vow of silence in the game…

WoW isn’t considered a premium product by the company.

Standards aren’t going to suddenly change just because someone has a bad day.

You’re right, we don’t :+1:

That aside, putting the guy on ignore and submitting a ticket for ongoing harassment whenever he deliberately stands on top of people is a good suggestion. Him standing nearby isn’t actionable, but purposely standing on top of people edges into griefing.

There are also instanced areas that the OP could go to in the meantime while they wait for action to happen if they find this disruptively bothersome (Garrisons, raids, dungeons). Trolls aren’t known for their patience. A lack of response and being unable to follow them to kick the beehive for a while will undoubtedly have him moving on to do other stuff.

You are still responding in this thread giving power to the person doing the stalking.

Don’t see what he’s doing wrong by standing there …. What is he watching? Goldshire shenanigans?

What if he is roleplaying a stalker?

Maybe he’s RPing a Manhunter?

He is RPing a meddlesome DK.

I had a similar experience to you a few years ago. I made a thread about it, got zero replies and left it at that-- but then 12 hours later the guy himself posts in my thread-- I had never mentioned him by name and only vaguely recounted his actions.

Folks thought it had to be a joke, or I was the same person and the whole thing was staged, because it was hard to believe anyone would be THAT bold. I woke up to a thread that was over 100 posts of him arguing with the community about what “stalking” meant.

TLDR: I said nothing, moved the thread to the customer support forums, and the issue was resolved instantly… And, based on things mutual acquaintances of ours said, he ended up with a “break” (his own words).

It might take a bit of willpower, but treat the offending individual as if they don’t exist, even if they dance right on top of you. This goes for everyone in your group.

It will probably take some time, but they will eventually see that they are accomplishing nothing and go seek attention elsewhere.

He’s RPing as a literal shadow. Always there just existing as an extension of something else.

Fun little detail in my RP, my shadow has been known to go full Peter Pan/Alastor/Dr. Facilier

It is what we have been doing, but makes serious RP really bad to do, but I hope something can be done.

I’m just waiting for the day Blizzard get’s sick and tired of dealing with RP servers and does what they did to PvP servers, just makes them all the same lol.

I’m hoping for the opposite. It is an MMO-RPG not an MMO-PvE. They should all be RP servers.

Nothing is stopping people from RPing on normal servers.

So when a hawk gets one of my chickens, i keep them in the run for 6 weeks instead of letting them out into the yard. Doesn’t happen often, every couple few years. After awhile the hawk has moved on because there’s nothing there for it.

If someone body blocking you out in the game world is that disruptive to your RP, move inside instanced zones for awhile until he moves on or he does something actionable. You get to keep playing and he cant reach you, eventually gets bored and moves on.

I know, I do it all the time on Proudmoore and Medivh

Normal servers don’t function the same.

First and foremost, just because you are RP’ing, doesn’t mean you own that area. If someone wants to observe other players in an MMO, then that seems entirely within the realm of acceptable play.

If they are intentionally standing directly in someone and disturbing their activities… maybe…

If they are following you / your group around and spamming emotes or constantly saying disparaging things, then put them on ignore / report them.
