Happy News Years!

What are your arena resolutions? For me personally I’m going to try and limit the amount of time I spend in RSS and RSSRBGBBlitz for my mental health :face_exhaling:

Hope you all have a safe and happy news years! :tada:

Anyone who rides a motorcycle without a full face helmet is just asking to get Darwined

FTFY. Their organs will go to great use.

Idc what anyone says no matter how safe of a rider YOU think you are, nothing prepared you for little susie who just got her license and is on a cell phone or texting to plow into you.

Only a matter of time

Yep. I know from personal experience. A close family member was a very good rider. Got hit by a lost tourist and has a TBI. Forever changed. It’s not if it’s when.

That’s exactly what all the :cat2:s say

If you don’t want to have the most fun you can have in your life because you’re too scared then that’s fine, my bike has a backseat for your girl

Yeah, everyone has a cousin’s lawyer’s friend who died on a bike accident. I have a cousin who died in a car accident, should I stop driving too?

Life is what you make it, I’d rather die having fun then live 90 years scared.

Did a rotation at a trauma/neuro ICU and it was filled with motorcycle vs car. A lot of electric scooters getting hit too. Call me a :cat:, but after what I’ve seen/experienced you couldn’t pay me to ride a motorcycle around a bunch of texting drivers piloting something that could mangle tf out of you lol

I won’t go too far into it because there are people on this forum I don’t want knowing stuff about me, but just know it changed his and a lot of people’s lives forever. Really horrific event, and he was wearing a full body suit/new helmet. There are fates worse than death. Be careful out there brother.

OH no cafeteria table burn

Its a fun time until you’re on a morgue slab getting harvested over cell phone usage.

It’s fiiiiiine, I rode for 7 months straight this year and almost only died like 5 times.

If you ever want a ride let me know, you’ll have to hug me softly and tightly from behind so you don’t fall off when I twist that girthy throttle. :kissing_heart:

Sorry let a bad experience get the better of me lol Happy new years my man. Going to edit all that out. Too much for a random forum.

The VAST majority of motorcycle accidents are actually the biker’s fault. Most are involving speeding or driving while intoxicated and I never drive while intoxicated so I have that checked off. I speed but I know when and where, I’m not speeding in a busy road or in the rain or at night.

Cars not paying attention just is what it is. Most of those don’t lead to deaths and the big ones that do like head on collisions, would result in death even if you were in a car too so is what it is. Most accidents that aren’t biker’s fault is most likely not going to kill anyone. Just be alert while you’re in intersections and you’ll avoid 90% of accidents and learn how to turn corners on a bike because that’s also a common way to low side off a bike.

I mean, the incident I’m talking about the rider was taking a corner and someone just missed their turn and veered into him from the middle lane without seeing him. Multiple eye witnesses confirmed this and he won a lawsuit because of it. Very skilled rider. He had travelled all over the country and even to Alaska on huge road trips. Everyone in the car was fine. Rider almost completely paralyzed on left side and TBI that changed him forever. Not talking trash or trying to scare you. Just be aware of the risks my man. If you don’t have kids do w/e I guess. He has kids.

Sounds fun. I have wanted todo some longer rides but can never find the time. What kind of bike you riding?

I work in the power sports industry. Working about 7 years at an aftermarket parts company. I not only heard every story, but lots of the guys I worked with had accidents. There were pictures in the hallways of guys who had died riding. Have also low sided and broke a few ribs.

Still ride and have bought more bikes sense. Love it.

This happened to me last month, had to reduce speed and turn sharper mid turn. Truck went like 3 feet past the double lines into my lane. Definitely got my heart pumping and could have gone worse if he had completely gone into my lane, but like I said, he he HAD completely gone into my lane and I was in a car, I prob would be dead there too because that was a full blown silverado 3500+ over 10k lbs coming at me at 30 mph while I’m going 30+ mph the opposite way.
