Have an Indian FTR 1200 atm, it’ll be rough getting it cross country since it only gets like 140 miles of range, will need to plan ahead to figure out where all the gas stations are
Feel like I need to just get an adv bike for it, the lack of windscreen on my bike is also going to not be great after hrs of highway riding.
Yeah pretty much everyone I’ve spoken to has dropped their bike at least once. I dropped mine while I was learning, I hopped off as it dropped at low speeds so I wasn’t injured.
Fun bike. I have some friends that worked on that project at Polaris. Yea, I think i’d have a rough time doing more than 3-4 hours on a bike like that. I have a '17 cbr1000rr I love, but I won’t do more than 3-4 hours on it, max. Longest ride was a few hundred miles on my '18 heritage softail and it was substantially more enjoyable. I’d love to get an ADV of some type, but… I really wanna try that super moto life next! >.<
Yea, it’s bound to happen. Unfortunately it is a part of the learning process. When I broken my ribs, I was doing a track day. Went a bit wide and thought I could ride it out in the gravel… nope. Oddly enough, my elbow guard ended up in my ribs and did a decent amount of damage. If only I had worn less protective gear!
But in all seriousness, nearly every crash from anyone I know has been largely their fault. A few guys have hit deers which are pretty unavoidable, but past that it’s riding too fast or past the rider’s experience level. The statistics are pretty cooked for motorcycles accidents. The majority are single vehicle and most of them involve alcohol. People on the outside looking in don’t quite see that. So it goes.
ive known 2 people who have “survived” motorcycle accidents, one was on the highway and he got lucky enough that when he flew off/skidded his fall was cushioned enough where he had a long recovery time and some broken bones.
the other guy got hit by a drunk driver going thru a red light, he’s still walking but speaks and thinks with a “special needs” iq now.
definitely one of those activities “enter at your own risk”
Yea, my first bike was a '78 cb750k. I have 3 of them atm in varying states of decay. Dream project is a '76 cb750f and a CBX1100. Was soooo close to winning one of ebay a year back. /sob
And yea, I would love to get the CBR 1000RR-RRRR. I know I’ll never be able to unlock even a fraction of what’s it’s capable of, but man it would be fun in a straight line. haha… Even my '17 is way too much, but I love it. Was my first even new bike purchase. Fresh out of the crate. Still haven’t reached it’s top speed yet. It’s amazing how much road you cover doing 165. >.>
Yea, tons here in WI. It’s all early morning and dusk. I don’t ride much at night unless I’m in the cities. Have had a couple close calls and that was enough for me.
On the topic of motorcycles: all commercially available four-wheel passenger vehicles are, in the context of getting darwined, only a smidge less suicidal than driving a motorcycle, and death or injury by either can be considered getting equally darwined

I need like 86 points in Blitz that I’m going to try to push for while I’m on Christmas brake. Then I’m going to try and finish 2s(which I really like doing)(150 points) and then might try to do it in SS(if I don’t stick scissors in my eyeballs first)(250 points).
I will holler though when I get done with blitz.
I haven’t tried 3s. I think it would be ugly until I get better. I’m thinking I may dip my toe in the deep end next season though.
