I’m in no way trying to complain about RNG, I’m legitimately asking if something is bugged with the strength ring that drops from Headless Horseman. I’ve been chain running it for about 3 hours, with an average que time of about 3 minutes. And so far, not only have I not won the strength ring, I haven’t even seen it drop once. There is only 4 rings. Seems by now, even with the worst RNG imaginable it would have dropped once or twice.
I have seen it drop so it certainly isn’t bugged to where it can’t drop

Just bad luck. Ran it with some guildies last night and legit had the Strength ring drop four times in a row as we hunted for the caster hit ring. Keep queueing.
Lol i needed t2 gloves to complete bloodfang set on rogue
Gloves can drop from 3 bosses in bwl, each around 15% for rogue
So thats 3x chances per week.
I ran it since end of wotlk during prepatch and only just now last week got the gloves. Felt like it was bugged so i get where you’re coming from lol. Like 6 months of farming for 15% with 3x chances each run was pretty annoying.

I have seen uncommonly when crafting items with random secondary stats sometimes the random number generator will get stuck and I wind up crafting the same stats for multiple pieces, or when skilling up, I will craft like 10 items using “Create All” without a skill point. When that happens I stop and “Create Item” one at a time and I get skill points more often.
Don’t chain run if things aren’t dropping. Log out, and log back in.

edit: oh I’m seeing 161 under “Items” in mob info so the above doesn’t add up to 167. That means 6 people left without rolling causing the roll to hang up for 2-3 minutes before awarding item to winner - I left (after passing) before the ring was given out.

I thought the same thing. I logged out last night and logged back in this morning. I then proceeded to run HH roughly another 20 times with no luck. I’m kind of at a loss for what to do. I’ve spent all of my free time I have to play WoW running one boss over and over again. Frustrating to say the least
Did you chain run again?
The roll coding isn’t open source so we don’t know if results can be unintentionally borked by someone’s character in some way
Try a run on a different non-str character, then swap back to your str user
If you are selecting the green flag, don’t from now on or vice versa.
I’ve seen patterns in all these loots where the same ring will drop multiple times in a row or more often than others (during a multiple requeue session). It’s how probability works.
20 runs without getting the str ring is about as uncommon as getting an item with a 0.5% drop rate on the first try. It happens, but rarely.
Every bot is a DK… this might be why the system has generated more str rings tht have never seen a human.
I was just que’ing up while questing. So essentially yes. I’ll try running it once, then coming back the next time I’m online and just running it once. I may still not get it, but at least I won’t be wasting all my time
Me trying to get Mage D1 legs off Baron Rivendare before Cata so I could finish D2 quest chain before that got removed. Ran it plenty. Did it drop? Nope. You know what dropped instead? The mount. So I got the mount, and even the 2H sword, but somehow not the legs.
Really kicking myself for not just rolling need on it the few times it dropped during og classic (even tho it was worthless).

Saw it drop about 5 times in a row… while trying for healer ring for my druid.
Healer ring seems the rarest to me. Seen it twice so far.

I feel the same i did it on my dk kept getting intellect rings to drop after 172 runs i finally got a strength ring to drop only to lose it to a warrior.
Theyve said since forever they like complaining. Complaining means we still care. We stop complaining, it means we’re leaving. The game is never going to be perfect for everyone. They know. They’re just trying to deal with each crisis as it comes. They’ve operated that way for eons.
Let the guy complain. He still cares.
