[H/A - RP] The Tirisfal Theatre Troupe - Performing on September 7th!

And the show goes on once again…

During the Siege of Orgrimmar, years ago, two visionaries saw a world beset by fear of tyranny and lacking in spirit and good humor. From the ashen cradle of the Tirisfal Glades, and the mind and pockets of a man from Silvermoon City, talent from far and wide was brought together to find a solution to the world’s woes, but through the art of performance rather than the art of war.

Thus began the Tirisfal Theatre, a group of performers who have long held the belief that service to one’s people is to leave them with hope and high spirits, with laughter and song, with spectacle and wonder.

Whether it be by the soul of a play, or the heart of a fireworks show, one thing is certain; when the Tirisfal Theatre is in town, you know fun is about to be had.

We’re currently recruiting folks who have even an inkling of motivation to be a part of a fun performing environment, who like to place and emphasis on ensuring the audience a good time! Primary roles we’re currently looking to hire for are;

Actors : Want to tread the boards? Be in the spotlight? Actors are the bread and butter of our guild, and while all roles can act whenever the need arises, we want people who are motivated and dedicated to taking on the roles we give and bringing them to life!
Ushers / Security : Work with the audience. We provide the mace. As you can imagine, our events (though they very in size) can get chaotic if the crowds get too big. Having folks around whose job it is to help folks find ideal seats, to get folks over from other realms, summon and even to help provide special effects via raid-only toys such as the Weather Generators that we need audience members to see during a performance (while still maintaining certain group-only effects).
Backstage : Costume design, make-up, handling props, lighting, stage effects, etc positions are in high demand. Our plays don’t go nearly as well without using what toys, spells and abilities are at our disposal to their fullest. Backstage assistance is always a huge plus - sometimes, you need someone willing to hop on their shaman to add some rain to a dramatic scene, or a mage to light the stage on fire when explosions are in the script for the cool guys to NOT look at.

Who Are We?

Summary

Who are we? More like who aren’t we! Actors, actresses, musicians, dancers, writers, directors, and folks from all walks of life! We’re a theatrical performance guild with an established history on Wyrmrest Accord!

Established by Father Irreverent of the Church of the Forgotten Shadow, and Lord Atos Sunhart of the Silvermoon Thespian Society prior, the Tirisfal Theatre Troupe has been performing for Wyrmrest Accord since 2013, with our first major public event having taken place in October of that same year.

First and foremost, we are a roleplaying guild. Our events are pretty freeform, typically consisting of get-togethers, reading through new material, or putting together an impromptu street performance for people passing by to enjoy. Our larger, structured events have a bit more of an OOC-tailored aspect in the sense that we focus on making sure the plays we do go off without a hitch, and start putting out the word for our shows by engaging in walk-up RP with passersby. This structure is not what everyone looks for in a guild, so just know that if you’re looking for a more serious, highly focused guild with an ongoing plot, this might not be the group for you. However, if you’re a fan of a more relaxed group that has an emphasis on engaging with others, we have something for you.

During events, we try to remain somewhat serious, as we do have a job to do - entertain the people who show up to watch us. But after the show, we love to goof off, spend time with the audience, and enjoy our roleplay at our own pace.

Most of our events place primarily on Fridays, and sometimes on weekends for particularly large shows - all events typically in the evenings between the hours of 6 PM server and 8 PM server starting time. We function based on the server’s time and plan our events around a median of which all cast members can make.

We have few attendance requirements to be and remain a guildmate. However, as we do rely on attendance to ensure a smooth event, we ask that those who sign up for events communicate with us if there will be an issue attending as soon as they can. The sooner we know that something has come up or that someone doesn’t feel confident in playing a role, the sooner we can do something about it.

We allow members that do not have to leave their current guild to perform with us! While officer ranks are required to be part of the guild itself, members can be from any other guild and not have to quit to be a part of us. Discord is only required to receive more frequent updates about our events, and you are not required to get into voice chat to speak, though we may sometimes ask you to enter to listen during a show.

We accept Alliance membership, though some of our events do take place in Horde territory. That being said, we do try to make sure our events are in neutral areas as often as we can, even if a few events might slip through the cracks.

It should go without saying, but we are also an all-inclusive guild comprised of mature people and have a zero-tolerance policy for drama, hate speech, etc. Most if not all of us are adults who have no desire to deal with bigotry or immaturity of any sort, and we’re not here to tell people to play nice, so please…play nice. On that note, if a member of our guild or community exhibits such behaviors, please notify one of us with a screenshot of the behavior and we will deal with it promptly.

What Do We Do

Summary

We perform plays, both written in-house and from submissions. Over the years, we’ve done over thirty different shows, with the biggest and most well-known productions being;

  • The Hellsqueal Trilogy ( A three part play series about the life and downfall of former Warchief Garrosh Hellscream )
  • Beautiful Beast ( a WoW-ified take on the classic story of Beauty and the Beast. Sorry, Karazhan fans! No talking dinnerware in this one!)
  • Waiting For Gul’dan ( A story about immense boredom between expansions, contextualized in-character, of course)
  • The House on Raven Hill ( A story about a man who bought a house in Duskwood that has a rather annoying infestation - a possessed doll. )

And much, much more! These are just some of the larger plays we’ve done in the past. In addition to plays, however, we also do other forms of entertainment! Fashion contests, Comedy Clubs, and parties galore! We’re always looking for new ways to engage and entertain with Wyrmrest Accord, as well as those from other servers who desire to phase in for our events and see what it’s all about.

In addition to our major productions, we perform smaller plays as well as part of our ‘street performances’, which are usually promotional towards our major productions or other events. We even have a parody death metal band comprised of orcs (an homage to Dethklok) titled “Warlordz of the Metalorcalypse”.

There really is no ceiling to what we do. Though plays are the front and center, we have a simple philosophy to how we run our events; “If we think an idea sounds entertaining and fun, and we can manage pulling it off, we’ll probably do something with it.”

Who Are We Recruiting?

Summary

We love adding new friends to our ranks, and now that we’re recruiting the Alliance into our fold as well, we would love to meet with anyone who believes they would be a good fit for us, especially people who desire the following;

  • Giving players who are either new to RP, anxious about it or don’t RP but are curious something to bridge them towards our community.
  • Giving a common ground topic for RPers to meet one another, forge friendships, etc. that will enhance their RP experience and immersion.
  • Giving to our community and take part in other people’s events as often as we can afford to, and be a reliable group to be called on.

While the ability to make our events as often as you are able (showing initiative) and following directions are important, these are what we aim for. We are seeking people who above all want to uphold these goals and provide their own creative touches to what we do. Someone could be a great actor with flawless delivery, and yet if they don’t hold a desire to give their best effort to the community and instead desire only to have a following from working with us, that’s really not what we’re looking for.

Friendly. Creative. Passionate. These are words that describe the type of people we want, OOCly, even if the character one plays is not always such.

If you want to apply, you need only contact Atos via Discord (GLA#0318) or an in-game mail to arrange a meeting, and we will give an IC interview and trial run for your character. This trial run is basically a month where you are invited to show up at events, interact with us both in and out of character, and we see if you’re a nice fit for our group. Through this, we hope to gauge your desire to be a part of the guild, as well as how well you interact with our members. Full details on the process will be given at the time of your interview.

All in all, though, we’re pretty laid back, so you really don’t have much to worry about! So be sure to get out there and break a leg with us!

FAQs

Summary

Q: So anyone can join? Alliance or Horde?

*A: We’d welcome Kingslayers and demon lords if they mesh well enough with our crew! The Tirisfal Theatre Troupe is a motley crew, and in the best possible way. With guilds being cross faction and the various improvements in support for cross server/cross faction roleplay over the years, we’d welcome a half-elf half-succubus catgirl demon hunter from Moonguard if they could make us laugh and cry.

And yes, we DO recruit people from other servers as well. With many RP addons having cross server support, and a lot of items tradable cross server now, there’s no reason not to! We also recruit people who are already in guilds - you do NOT have to leave your current guild to join our activities! We have other ways of communication, so you never need to leave your friends or teammates you’ve been playing with in order to branch out to us!

Q: Do you do request performances for other events?

A: Yes, we do take requests from other groups and events to perform at specific times and dates, provided we can get the manpower for it. This is sometimes not possible, and usually, we’ll get back to you pretty quickly if we can’t take the time you’ve outlined for us. We do not charge for appearances and never will.

Q: How often do you guys do big shows, like Hellsqueal?

*A: Larger productions are our pride and joy, but have been historically difficult to pull off without a proper cast. We would love to do them more often, but we don’t want to become so focused on them that we don’t do any of our other styles of events or focus on them.

Q: What other projects are you all working on? How often do you come out with new content?

*A: Most of our plays are created in-house and follow a certain quality standard set by the guild, production can sometimes vary. However, we try to have something new out as often as we can and have several plays that are about to be given either a thumbs up or thumbs down from the cast.

Hi everyone, I hope you decide to join us! I’ve had so much fun with this crazy group of people so far, and I hope you will too!

Previous theatre experience is NOT NECESSARY either! Whether you’ve never done a theatre show before, or if you happen to be a veteran in and out of the game, our Troupe is accessible to anyone interested in this form of story-telling. Happy to chat with others about my experience either in game (Prosperoh) or out (@woodylego on discord)

We’re pretty excited to be finding our momentum again! It’s been a rough ride, but in the best way. Our shows have been wildly fun to put on, and we’re hoping the folks who have come out to see us so far have enjoyed what we’ve done!

As to why we have another thread, the master post of the old one could not be edited anymore for some reason, so here we are. (Also for some reason I seem to have lost the ability to post images and links? I haven’t even posted in awhile, yet I’ve lost Trust level 3, can someone elaborate on how this occurs?)

Moving forward, we’re going to announce our new events in this thread as well as the other places we’ve been advertising. If you have the time, come out and see us perform! <3

(Also why am I shirtless? Armory, I’m wearing a suit, get with the program!)

Hello. I’m Caeriss Morningsong and I’m not a mage but I play on in-game. My biggest role to date was setting fire to the stage during our last play.

No, no one was hurt during the play. Sure a few robes were singed but hey, that’s the joy of theatre and the audience loved it.

You too can experience the thrill of the stage either as an actor or stagehand by joining us! Joining is easy, not to mention, painless.

Then I wouldn’t have to set things on fire.
Just saying.

Howdy hi, folks! Atos here with an exciting announcement! Also we haven’t died, don’t worry - just been a lack of activity on our forum post, as I’ve been preoccupied most of the Summer IRL.

While this past Summer has seen us mostly do small scale pop up shows here and there, we’re gearing up for a packed finale for the coming season! Starting with a little gem some of you may remember!

The TTT Present: Hellsqueal, the True Warchief’s REMIX!

Many years have passed since the fall of Garrosh Hellscream, widely referred to as only the second worst Warchief to ever live. In the wake of his legacy of failure, come have a laugh at his expense as we take a brief and historically accurate look at his career as Warchief of the Horde!

Come join the illustrious Tirisfal Theatre Troupe as we perform this revision of a classic story, filled with drama, heartache, betrayal, heroics, and jokes about bronze frogs and dubious medical typos!

The show will be held at the Shrine of Fellowship in the Jade Forest (Wyrmrest Accord’s shard, non-Warmode), a quick portal away for both factions on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH at 6:00 PM PST // 8:00 PM CENTRAL ! Runtime is approximately an hour and a half, though technical difficulties may cause us to go slightly over!

It’s been a number of years since the Tirisfal Theatre Troupe last performed the play that put us on the map! While we said goodbye to the Hellsqueal trilogy of comedies a long time ago, with the advent of the wildly successful Mists of Pandaria Remix, we figured now was as good a time as any to dust off the old script and give people another taste of this timeless classic from the Timeless Isles. This time around, a few things are a little different - our standard of quality in what we’ve written is a little higher, our production value is a little larger, and we’ve got a number of new and old talent alike returning to the stage!

Come join us for this recollection of a simpler time, and maybe find something both new and old to love about this new spin on the Tirisfal Theatre’s very first major production that we premiered way back in 2013. Whether you are an old troupie, or someone who has merely heard of us in passing… you’re certain to have a Hellscream of a time.

So to recap on the who, what, where, and when…

WHO: The Tirisfal Theatre Troupe…and YOU!
WHAT: “Hellsqueal: The True Warchief’s Remix”, a live performance!
WHERE: The Shrine of Fellowship, Jade Forest
WHEN: Saturday, September 7th, 6:00 PM PST // 8:00 PM Central

The Troupe has been hard at work on this production, rewriting our script and adding little nuances and additions not seen in the original run of the show! Come out and see us on Saturday, September 7th!

Ash’thoras denil, Denizens!

Do you like theatre? Do you like the concept of putting on a play in a virtual space, or watching someone pull it off? The Tirisfal Theatre Troupe has been at this for over ten years now, bringing joy and laughter to all corners of Azeroth. Be you Horde, Alliance, or somewhere in between, we’d love to have you with us at the Shrine of Fellowship for this revisitation of our debut production on September 7th. (See the post above for details!)

  • Elixir of Tongues is recommended to enjoy this performance and its ambiance at their fullest.
  • We are happy to answer any questions you may have beforehand. Please don’t feel shy to reach out!

Saturday is the day, folks!

Just a small reminder of guidelines and a request for our audience!

If you’ve never been to one of our shows before, what we do is quite simple. Using our characters, various RP addons and profiles, toys, etc., we perform one of our many scripts before a live audience. Before a show, we typically do a sound test to make sure the audience can hear our characters talk.

During the show, we encourage simple emotes such as /clap, /gasp, /whistle, etc., but we request larger emotes and /s posts be kept to a minimum or within your party chat or another channel, not just for the sake of your fellow audience members, but for our performers as well.

If at any time someone shows up to grief the stage, we ask that you do not engage or interact, and opt to simply report them and ignore. Griefers have always been a thing, no changing that, we can only change how we react.

During the performance, the cast and crew will likely be very focused. If we don’t respond to your whispers or messages immediately, please give us time or seek us out after the show! These performances take a lot of focus for us, but we love our fans and love interacting with you! So be patient with us please!

If some folks would also be so very kind, we’d love it if someone could open a cross-realm group in the LFG channel, as there are a number of people from other realms who have expressed interest in watching, even non-RP realms. We are a group that encourages people from all avenues of this game to enjoy the fun of a roleplaying community event, and love opening the doors of our events to people who may have never been to one.

ALSO, we HIGHLY encourage everyone present for the event to have Elixirs of Tongues prepared, as some of our actors are Alliance, and likewise for any Alliance in attendance! Even if you don’t have any, there’s usually some generous souls in the audience who have some spares on them…or enterprising individuals looking to make a few gold.

Finally, please remember this is going to be in the Jade Forest, NON-WAR MODE, NON-TIMEWALKING MODE! This is very important, because if you are in timewalking mode on your character, or in War Mode, you will not be able to see us in the phase! And it will make us sad, and it will make our Hellscream actor cry. And you don’t wanna see our Hellscream actor cry unless he’s getting a Three-Stooges style sendoff!

All in all, we’re super excited to have you all! This is going to be our first major performance since we began rebuilding last year, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on!

Hello all! Tonight is the night! Just a few more hours until Hellsqueal comes to the Shrine of Fellowship!

Just a quick request to any folks in our shard tonight; We wanted to be able to have a dedicated crew for getting people over to our shard for the event from other servers and shard groups, however due to our small group size, we were unable to make that happen. To this end, we are requesting folks who are able to start up a listing in the group finder page for off-server folks to join at the event.

We know this is an inconvenience to both folks who wanted to see the show and folks who are planning to attend, but we hope we can request your assistance and understanding at this time! Please know that a dedicated crew for crowds, groups, etc. is something we are trying to obtain.

We thank you in advance, and hope everyone can come out and join us tonight at 6 Server / 8 Central!

Also for those who need coordinates to the play locale, they are 33.72 - 34.34
