[H-RP-PvP] <Sunfury Battalion> is recruiting for Shadowlands!

If your character is a member of the Thalassian magistrate or military, a Sin’dorei loyalist with deep desire to protect the blood elf people, you might be approached confidentially… by perhaps a teacher, a mentor, or a commanding officer… and presented with a small scroll, sealed with dark crimson wax. Inside the scroll would be a simple note with the location of an office in the Sunfury Spire. The note is stamped with a symbol you have seen before… a gold two-headed phoenix, on a crimson banner.

Who we are:

The Sunfury are an elite organization of Sin’dorei soldiers, renowned as one of the most accomplished fighting forces in Quel’Thalas. Formed by Prince Kael’thas following the destruction of Quel’Thalas in the Third War, the Sunfury were Kael’s personal bodyguard and military force.

The Sunfury refused to follow their prince into madness when he betrayed the Sin’dorei to the Burning Legion. They instead defected from Kael’s forces, returned to their homeland, and fought against him with the Shattered Sun Offensive to prevent the Sunwell from being defiled a second time.

After the final defeat of their Prince, these noble warriors became Kingsguard without a King. Seeking to restore their honor, and supplement the depleted Thalassian army, the Noble Houses petitioned Lor’themar to commission the Sunfury Battalion to a new mission - to renew their oaths and guard the people of Quel’thalas, to defend the very existence of the Sin’dorei people.

What we do:

IC: Sunfury Battalion is an elite Sin’dorei military force, commissioned by the Noble Houses to protect the Sin’dorei. We are the last line of defense against any threat to the Blood Elves. We recruit the best and brightest members of the Magisters, Blood Knights, and Farstriders, to join our Battalion.

OOC: Sunfury Battalion is a Blood-Elf-only guild, based on the RP lore of the Sunfury. We focus on WPvP and RP. We have a Blood Elf military lore-based rank system. We do weekly Warparties & RP, as well as RP-PvP campaigns and other monthly events!

What to expect as a guildie:

  • We strive for a high level of RP immersion. Our divisions and ranks are based closely on Blood Elf lore, paying homage to the rich history of the Magisters, Blood Knights, and Farstrider organizations.

  • We have a tight knit guild culture, and we expect guildies to acclimate to our culture and contribute to building on our vision.

  • Maturity and respect are expected in and out of guild. We don’t tolerate toxicity or drama.

  • No discussions involving RL race, politics, religion or other hot-button topics. We are inclusive and do NOT tolerate racism, homophobia, or other bigotry.

  • We focus on quality over quantity. You don’t have to be an expert in PvP (or RP), just have a positive attitude and willingness to learn and work as a team.

  • We are a Blood-Elf only guild – as part of the immersive experience we offer, we consist entirely of Sin’dorei who have sworn an oath to defend Quel’thalas and her people at any cost.

Sunfury Battalion are bloody good killers and solid comrades. If you seek glory and to paint the place with the living guts of Quel’Thalas’ enemies, you’ve come to the right place. Also fine allies to work with collaboratively!

You will find no more loyal and skillful a group than the Sunfury Battalion. I count them amongst my closest comrades, as they are extremely dependable and have a great attitude towards a whole host of activities ranging from RP to content at large. They are both professional in their events and kind at a personal level. They are not only esteemed in and around my own guild and friendly guild groups, but rank amongst Wyrmrest’s most active and greatest guilds. I am proud to be able to call them close friends, and you will find no better a home than the Sunfury Battalion.

Out of curiosity, would you accept a Silvermoon-Aligned High Elf, or is it Blood Elves only?

The short answer is, only Blood Elves, Thalassians who identify themselves as “children of the blood”, with the heritage of the Sin’dorei.

We are a special forces unit funded by the Noble Houses and sanctioned by the Thalassian government, and what we are known for above all else is zealotry for the Sin’dorei, knowing and having experienced all that that entails. IMO it would be kind of hard to justify having a Quel’dorei who identifies as a High Elf as a part of the Sunfury, since there is so much of the tragedy/triumph of their experience in the third war and the events of the shattered sun that followed Kael’s fall, that our guild lore is based on. (Just explaining - not trying to debate it in a recruiting post  )

That said, if you have a Sin’dorei and are interested and want to chat, send me an in-game mail, as we have worked through backstory details like that ICly with a few folks.

Retired champion of Eversong willing to heft her spear from its rack again. Do you do rated pvp at all?

We do - we have a number of folks who push arenas, not so much RBG but that may change. But we are out quite a bit for WPVP.

I remember the day the Sunfury came to Outland. I was ecstatic. I believed that my people had not forgotten about us after all. That they had not abandoned us, their comrades from the Second War, who had volunteered beneath Ranger-Captain Windrunner to go beyond the Dark Portal to end the Horde threat to Quel’thalas forever.

I believed that my Prince had come to rescue us at last. My joy turned to despair when I realized the Sunfury were more interested in conquest than in reuniting with their Thalassian kin. Raining crystals over outland, Mana Bombs directed at Allerian Stronghold, I watched atrocity after atrocity take place across the shattered realm.

What JUSTICE is there in fighting for Quel’Thalas and being thrown away by your own people? What GLORY is there in slaughtering entire towns full of innocents? And what HONOR is there is betraying your allies and siding with our greatest enemies?

OOC:

( Just some IC response and I think that this guild is lovely <3 I think I will check it out~ )

The Sunfury refused to follow their prince into madness when he betrayed the Sin’dorei to the Burning Legion. They instead defected from Kael’s forces, returned to their homeland, and fought against him with the Shattered Sun Offensive to prevent the Sunwell from being defiled a second time.

A lot of time has passed since those days… when many of us had joined our Prince on what we thought was a mission to save our people. When we learned of the fullness of his betrayal, that he had sold us for his own power, we did what we had to do. While some of the Prince’s forces remained loyal, branding themselves as the Dawnblade, the Sunfury defected from the Prince’s forces, returning to Quel’thalas to defend our people in the Shattered Sun Offensive and prevent the Sunwell from being defiled a second time.

When the battle was over, we were welcomed back with mixed response, some thinking us traitors, but others who knew the truth, knew we had endured some of the heaviest losses, and made some of the hardest sacrifices.

Having lost so much, having endured so much betrayal, many of the Sunfury lost hope.

In the wake of the civil war, with the Thalassian forces depleted and Lor’themar seeking to rebuild, a proposal came from the noble houses… a proposal to rebuild and give new purpose to those shattered warriors, who had already shown themselves capable of making the toughest choices under the most dire circumstances… to defend the ideals, culture, and people of Quel’thalas from those that would seek to eradicate the Sin’dorei.

The Sunfury were called upon to renew their oaths to protect and defend the people of Quel’thalas, to form a new Battalion that would stand as sentinels against any threat from outside or within, called upon in darkest hours to succeed.

A little bit of our Guild RP Lore

Adept Zerenah, thank you for leading our Rated BG effort, it’s been a blast and we are already seeing great progress!

If you are interested in hearing more, DM or send an in-game-mail to Aeythyr or one of our officers!

Remember the Sunwell!

We’ve really made a nice, big family here. But this family is still in need of more rogues, it has too many paladins.

Our Ranger-Captain is correct. We need more rogues. And I’m not just saying that because she’s my superior officer.
