GW2 and FFXIV vs WoW

I don’t care if it’s a minority opinion or not, it’s still an opinion that apparently Blizzard themselves shares considering they keep hiding more and more of the game as time goes on. It’s bad enough starting people in BFA but it will be even worse starting people in Dragonflight which will add EVEN MORE back information that people won’t have access to when they first start.

At least if they kept with BFA, people could have some sort of background knowledge before hitting Dragonfight on their leveling journey. It’s still awful but pretty soon it’s going to be a full on train wreck lol.

If Blizzard was so proud of their leveling content, they wouldn’t block new players from 20 years of lore and content.

You think you’re majority? I would love to see at least 1 person come to your defense… majority doesn’t have to be 100% just more than 50% and right now most here aren’t the biggest fans of WOW’s leveling.

I’ve played both, and honestly I don’t think either do it better, just differently.

WoW is what we’ve come to know imo as a traditional MMO structure. While guild wars took a different approach. I really enjoy their combat system (when I’m not getting CC’d through the ground) and their take on open world content myself.

You and the other two think this forums represent everyone else yeah no sorry that doesn’t sound democratic at all.

Again, you cried about assumptions earlier and you continue to assume… also this isn’t a democracy.

But answer this, why do you think the leveling boost is so popular if people love the leveling process here? Why is it constantly being revamped and changed?

Assuming yet again on the level boost. Where’s the data if that were true. And also they have made the leveling experience shorter on live and even more so in TWW. So quit trying to play reverse psychology with me.

“I know you are but what am I”

Well it’s been fun taking you to school with literally everyone else who’s made their opinion known.

Goodbye :troll:  enjoy your L.

Nothing like showing how great your leveling experience is by making it shorter and shorter lol.

Great, I am dealing with a classic andy.

I don’t know who Andy is or what he did to you, but I’m sorry.

What I meant was that you are one if not those same people who clamor on to thinking the old way is any better when clearly people want shorter leveling experience. And so blizzard is cutting the time in half to make it to max level in TWW or maybe it’s a bit faster than it is on live.

They are making it faster because leveling in this game is awful.

And you think having players go through all the old content is any better like oh please atleast going through the dragon isles is so much better because it flows better and the quality is so much higher than that of Battle for Azeroth or any of the older stuff too. But since you’re one of those boomer that want to keep the status quo going you have classic World of Warcraft.

Yes, going through the old content would be better. Kind of dumb to send new players into an expansion with zero background information on what is going on.

Tell by that statement you didn’t play dragonflight even if you have I highly doubt you even paid any attention to the quest text or any of the cutscenes or cinematics and just skip over them and reach max level and call it a day. I know your type of people you’re not the only one I see everyday with the same mindset and attitude.

Right, I didn’t play Dragonflight, I just magically got to level 70 not long after release lol. Also, your statement didn’t refute what I said so clearly you agree with me.

My statement is about you skipping over all the context and details and just level all the way to 70 and didn’t mind to take the time and read everything if you have you would know that they did give context and character development.

Me skipping over details is irrelevant because I’ve been playing the game since Vanilla. Starting a new player in an expansion 20 years down the line is beyond dumb lol.

Dumb to you but not dumb to me. Because, dragonflight doesn’t carry as much of a baggage like Battle for Azeroth did. And plus the dragonflight story in terms of leveling is simple dealing with the primalist and getting to know who razageth is and what her kind are is so much better than throwing someone into a situation where they didn’t take the time to explain what is happening all across the board. And thinking that somehow throwing a new player into an old zone is any better when each of the old zones are isolated story and not an overarching narrative.

Plus, the people behind World of Warcraft is trying a new way to make sense of the story for new players by adding in a feature that accumulates everything that has happened.

There is no “baggage.” Starting in BFA was dumb too but it is still better than starting from Dragonflight because you gain knowledge of events in BFA, leading to Shadowlands, which lead to Dragonflight. Starting from Dragonflight is even worse because you are missing even more context than starting from BFA lol.
