Guys who play as female characters? Got a question

The OP literally isn't wearing any pants. Are are you sure you aren't an ERPer? Get some pants on, link us your backstory, guild and maybe talk more in character and MAYBE I'll believe you.

I've only been kicked from a group for being from Moon Guard once and I've been here since Wrath.

Sometimes in BGs people will give me a hard time. In those cases just be awesome, they shut up.
I main mage, wanted it human for the racials and I dislike the male human models.
My Night Elf hunter is female too for the same reason.

Also bewbs.
Honestly the main problem is probably that you were on Moonguard. If I saw you i'd assume you were a guy playing a girl (that what I assume for most female toons in skimpy mog), but I wouldn't assume ERPer other than the Moonguard part. Though I usually don't even look at what servers people are from cause I don't care.
Posted 23 minutes ago and not one response. Taking into account the subject matter, this feels like a troll. If it is, well done.
There isn't a stigma against playing characters of other than one's own gender.

There is a stigma about men playing provocatively-attired women, particularly on Moon Guard.

If you can't figure out the difference, and the reason for it, please refrain from playing scantily clad ladies until you do.

Well duh.. what did you expect to happen? That character has a female name and a sluty transmog. Most guys probably thought that you use it for catfishing.

She uses her seductive looks to distract potential enemies.

Listen, dude...

Just listen...

Roleplay is BAD when you write a character who uses sexual looks for anything. The main reason why it's a problem isn't because it's not possible, but because everyone knows that 90% (not a real statistic) of female toons in WoW are men. Especially when it comes to Roleplaying.

I don't know what it is, but dudes just really like fantasizing woman characters and their sexual relations. It's very off-putting.

As a male who plays female characters, almost exclusively for the reason of, "I like looking at cute booty instead of man booty," nothing makes me more disappointed than to see other men do that sort of thing. It's hilarious to watch these impractical Roleplay situations, while still possible, but you always know it's a man on the other end. Somehow, people still fall for it and start DMing the dude about how cute their character is, etc.

One of those DMs almost always include a question or a reference to the character and their sexuality. Easiest cop out: Just Roleplay your human as a human woman would behave. Especially in the WoW world.

Skimpiness is one thing and, oddly, somewhat accepted as a natural thing in real life. Remember: Even though WoW is fantasy, it still has its general basics of lore centered around alien invasions, medieval creatures and fantasy (*European stuff, like Castles and Dungeons and Caves to explore), and stupid things like armies of mindless zombies, talking moose people, etc. While these things considerably change the way we think about WoW lore, it probably WOULDN'T be natural, unless you were like a Night Elf, Orc woman, Troll, or otherwise ~ Humans simply wouldn't dress as scantily as people do in WoW RP.

When making a female character, as a male or whatever, it's understandable to want to make your character be practically nude but the lore and logic behind it is almost always laughable and often ruins good RP.

For example: Human commander talking to his squadron about a wonderful battle they just had against a group of Horde soldiers, talking business about their next mission. You're in Boralus, drinking and waiting so you can eventually crash in a warm bed. All of the players are guildmates who you know and consider to be friends - some female, some male, all playing various types of toons. But ultimately, you're all super serious about you RP (referencing the fact that you understand the people behind the toon and their intentions).

But then...

A female toon dressed in nothing but her underwear and a skimpy shirt walks in Roleplaying quite seriously, but their entire toon on TRP is described as some sort of (INSTERT BAD WORD HERE). They simply RP their toon as someone who sells their body - great for them, but you as this super serious group of soldiers may not really want to interact with that OOCly or ICly. At least, not in the given moment (especially if it's during a professional sort of event).

The toon walks up to you and immediately starts flirting with the closest female toon, and suddenly your group is introduced to a Bisexual, skimpy clothed, fu*a Draenei who is clearly a male behind the toon.

Now, you obviously understand that I'm talking about someone who goes above and beyond to really make a crap TRP and background or whatever - but you also get my point.

Skimpy, sexualized characters are both boring and uncomforting.

'Course, to each their own. But it's not like you encounter characters like yours on a daily basis in the real world (unless you really have put your life at a weird situation).

Just make your RP yours, but be serious (even with a female toon).

Only problem I've ever had playing a female was with my ex. Every other interaction with normal, sane people (by comparison) has been fine and met with indifference.

Girls often project themselves into their characters or create a fantasy character. I doubt they want their character to flirt with a female character who is supposed to be their lover.
You can project yourself into your character without projecting your insecurities onto your SO's own characters.

Side note, guys project themselves onto their characters too, so I don't really see how that's even relevant in the first place.

*sigh*

the mental imaged I'm getting now......
Your character isn’t even wearing pants how are we supposed to believe you’re not an ERPer
Moonguard? Doesn't matter, had sex.
Only one time in early Legion when someone on a male character started doing stanc/sit moves next to mine, which I assume meant something to "him" Since I was waiting at a dungeon entrance, I just ducked inside to get away from the idiot.

(I switched genders to get away from the new MT run animation. Added advantage: This one shows off transmog gear a lot better than the hunched male ever did :)

Wrymwest Accord doesn’t have the reputation of an ERP server like Moonguard does. And Emerald Dream was the PvP server to go to before Warmode.

So no, not the same.

Granted. I know this looks bad, but like I said. The character uses her looks as a weapon to distract enemies.

Now I want to know from other guys who play as female characters how often you've run into problems when people find out that you are a guy playing a female character. Same goes with people who play on Moonguard; Especially those in skimpy mogs?

Literally never.

All guys are "girls" and all girls are "girls."

GIRL = Guy In Real Life.

Until you have proof otherwise, this internet rule is paramount to surviving in an online world.

Basically, everyone is a girl.
Nothing wrong playing a character opposite your gender irl.

That said, your transmog deserves an eye roll. And the reason you give for it an even bigger eye roll.

Never had any issues most of my characters are female in skimpy mogs because i like the aestetic.

Had some people compliment me over the years or pause and stare which made me chuckle. Never had any issues with people in coms.

The only odd thing that i did notice over the years. Was most of the folks that asked my actual gender or found out via coms where just surprised i was a guy. Why? Because they said i was too nice.

Now this made me laugh. But it makes conclude that the stereotype on the internet is that men are asshats and women are saints. Which seems mildy offensive as a typical straight guy. Why does society expect me to be a jerk?
In the 15+ years that I've been online gaming across several different genres of games and playing mostly female characters I have never had to deal with advances from another player.

Its probably because I assume your average gamer isn't stupid to assume that the person irl isn't the same gender as the virtual avatar they play as.

The fact that these threads always pop up seems to suggest otherwise. Its creepy and really sad.
