Guys I am really scared for retail WoW

People that found Classic good because they had no idea how to play and were busy learning the game, maps, zones, features, classes as well as how to play now know all of this and can’t go back to that previous feeling.

It was window dressing since you pretty much never used it.

This might be the most accurate description of the classic experience I have ever read.

I wasn’t forcing anyone facts cant change anything

It is and it’s sad. As I said multiple times, Legion laid down a perfect foundation for them to make class design great this expansion instead they scrapped it and made classes awful.

Part of an MMO is to feel immersion, not having Speed Racer’s car at level 10 makes the world feel larger and it leads to more interactions between players so yes, it was a lot better. What’s the point of even walking with that mindset? Just have ports to ever city, town, questhub then when you accept the quest it should auto port you to the task needing to be completed.

Yeah, there’s only one way to do that:

It was . If it was not then WOW would never have become the juggernaut it was

This has to be a veiled troll post. Either that or you are insane.

Seek help.

A person who actually appears to be the target audience for current wow (which I personally think is a myth anyway, who could love this vapid junk expac) with a sky is falling post.

I will bite. Retail is aimed at not playing it. Avoiding conflict, log in three times a week for maybe 6 hours total to raid, run a plus 10, and clear out your emissaries. So yeah, hopefully classic stops the arbitrary “meaningful time played per week” that was essentially started in wrath and has been perpetuated since.

One shotting old content isn’t content.

I played the classic beta, leveled a warlock and hunter to 30. The only reason I have made myself stop is because it is so much more fun than bfa that I am missing work. The hunter was surprisingly fun. The things people complained about, having to feed pets, arrows in bags are part of what made it fun. Having nobody on level 1 motorcycle mounts meant that at level 20 when your hunter gets aspect of the cheetah and level 22 when you max that out to 36% you feel quite smug running past all of the slowpokes.

Sorry BFA but the turtle mazes and match games just don’t compete.

Casting a Fort on a random mage you are running past in the hopes he will reciprocate with intellect. Such immersion. That was the extent of it 99 times out of 100.

WPvP…?

There is a happy medium and classic was not it. Hard to be immersed if you are constantly trying to look for things to kill and running repeatedly over the same terrain when doing so.

World of Warcraft, and all of Blizzared entertainment’s titles now gauge success via Monthly Active Users metrics that are aggregate across all titles. Spending 70% of your time traveling is okay as long as you are logged in and playing.

Died when battlegrounds were introduced. The only people who did it after that were people who were terrible so had to resort to organised raids ganking people 30 levels below them.

And that’s assuming you played on a pvp server.

This is fair, but level 10 mounts are ridiculous. 20/40 imo, are good level for mounts. I won’t say there are good things from BfA because tbf I cannot think of a single thing atm however I will say I hope Blizzard and Ion find a healthy middle ground between Legion and Classic as far as how next expansion plays.

Lmao, I had some of the most intense WPvP experiences ever between TBC and WoTLK you’re full of crap dude.

They probably wouldn’t do that, though modern WoW might start making a return to form as it learns from Classic’s example.

Classic does well enough, we’ll probably see a BC server pop up, then Wrath and so on.

Embarassed to have forgotten to include multiple resist auras, and the speed boost aura for group members. I used those all the time. Looking forward to Classic.

They will have BC and Wrath for that middle ground. Retail needs to stay on the same course as it is or releasing BC and Wrath would be pointless.

I mean, ok if you want retail to die out keep hoping for it to continue the same course it has been lol.

I wonder if this is where part of the divide comes from. I have zero interest in Classic and I also hated … no, DESPISED WPvP to the point that I rerolled all of my characters on a PvE realm and started over after wasting countless hours getting camped by max level Horde in STV. You, on the other hand, seem to be in love with both Classic and WPvP.

I also wonder if this mythical “sense of community” I always see mentioned might originate from that, I never communicated with or remembered anyone outside of my guild and felt zero sense of community, but people who were doing WPvP a lot may have run into the same people a lot and felt like a community as a result. The only game I’ve ever played where I felt a sense of community was Star Wars Galaxies.
