On my character Darkprayers On Stormrage. My Guild Reputation was reset to neutral at login. I was exalted last night. I never left my Guild nor have I made any guild related changes at all! Seems to be just that toon too.
Exception to what? I didnt do anything. I logged out last night and went to bed. My Rep was exalted. I logged in tonight and it was reset to Neutral at login. Seems to be a bug that happened that took something away I rightfully earned.
That is what. GMs are largely hands off when something is bugged because of the potential for their involvement to make things worse, an example among I’m sure many that haven’t been revealed to us.
Exceptions are granted on a case basis but also have their own separate rulesets that a GM must follow before they can grant it. I wouldn’t be surprised if a supervisor’s permission has to be signed off on those, too.
Yes that and deleting my cache folder was the first thing I did. It’s definitely not a display error because I was maxed on my guild rep last night.
Now every time I turn in a quest I’m getting a notification saying I’ve earned 250 Guild rep. The bar should not be moving at all it was maxed. So on top of those notifications the rep is moving.
That’s pretty discouraging to hear because for example if you spent 10 years farming invincibles reigns and then you go to login a week later and it’s mysteriously gone due to a bug you have no course of action to get it back?
I mean that’s the type of things that makes people want to start to unsubscribe from the game. That’s literally what GMs are supposed to be there for to fix things for you when you lose something that you worked for due to a bug
Yes I have done all this too it’s 100% not a UI issue. But thank you very much for this informative post. This fix may work for some people who are reading this thread facing a similar issue however did not fix whatever happened to me
Now, before you repeat it not being a UI issue - anything related to guild things or any interface issues go under this ticket category. You will likely get a templated response at first. Don’t freak out, this is normal. They send those out for people to try things to see if they can fix it on their own without needing a GM’s assistance or dealing with the ticket wait time. Just hit the button to the tune of “I still need help” and it’ll kick you back in for a GM to look things over themselves.
I did about a character transfer about 2 months ago and I lost one rank of Guild rep when I came to the new server which is normal. I farmed it back up to exalted. No I have not recently done anything I haven’t even moved my character. Literally all I did was put my character in the city of Dorn last night then log out and go to bed. My character has been exalted for some time.
When I logged in tonight? I started doing a few World quests and saw I was getting Guild rep for them and I was like what the heck? I’m exalted so I went to go look at the rep and it was neutral
THe reason i ask if a guild transfers servers it leaves a copy on the original realm im not sure how permanat it is thats why im asking but if ur the only one in the guild beside ur alts its a moot point.
Just armoried your profile, Darkprayers, Which you mentioned that had the Guild reputation reset and it does appear that it did.
Your reputation from what I can see is indeed at Neutral and I also took note that you earned the achievement, Time Flies When You’re Having Fun back in the year 2011.
You could try opening a ticket to see if a Game Master can restore the reputation for you. But I do know this was a known bug with reputations such as Dark Talons resetting in players during Dragonflight expansion.
I also advise posting a Bug Report regarding this on the Bug Report Forum. So Quality Assurance can look into this further to determine what is causing reputations to reset on players at this time.
I actually got the following response from a Blizzard GM this morning.
I understand your guild reputation has been reset to neutral after reaching exalted.
As a WoW player myself. I know this must be frustrating since it takes time and effort to reach exalted reputation, so I have completed the investigation and have noticed you did lose the reputation for some reason.
However, since I couldn’t tell what caused the issue and it required more tools to check on it, I have contacted the relevant team for deeper investigation.
The investigation might takes few days to complete, we will get back to you as soon as we hear back from our team. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your understanding and patience on this matter.
We hope this information can provide some clarity and assistance to you, and if you have any further concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us again!
