Like I said, the LFG tool is able to pick up a lot of the traffic that would have been there prior to the tool.
The issue is you never quoted anybody… so there is no quote to expand. You made a blanket statement

Oh but there’s Discord for groups but how to you get people into those Discords if you supposably can’t advertise that in LFG?
Yes, group finding, so that means I want to find a group of people to run raids with every week. Makes sense.
If it’s such an issue for you use an addon like LFG Bulletin Board.
This far from what people are complaining about, and I’m not sure if you’re trying to be disengenuous or not.
What people are complaining about are the CONSTANT wall of text being spammed every minute by bots for guild recruitment.
For example right now in chat at 3am. The LFG chat is still scrolling quickly and it’s almost all guild recruitment with massive walls of text.

Shaloranis said that LFG is for current groups, I made an example of a group that isn’t current and assume that they don’t like these kinds of posts either. I thought it was obvious but I guess not.
Honestly, posting about what kind of enviroment the guild has is perfectly fine.
Guild name, now recruiting for our 25 man raid, currently 10/13 heroic Looking for Mage and Rogue or other high performing players to fill a permenant place in our roster. We're a tightnit community with some PvP enthusiasts that also hold guild events everynow and then. pst me or blank for more info.

I swear some of you contrarians really like taking everything said out of context.
The CONTEXT to that post, was the fact that there are bots spamming LFG with max chat limit guild recruitment messages every min 24/7. It’s annoying.
There should be a looking for guild channel, or an actual GLOBAL channel other than LFG so we don’t have to put up with that spam 24/7 by the bots. That’s simply not the intent for the LFG channel.
It would depend on if its a bot spamming it every minute in LFG chat. There are probably no less than 12 bots right now on my server spamming LFG every min for guild recruitment. Every one of them has a wall of text. And it’s WAY worse during the day. I have a ton muted so it’s impossible for me to know the exact number right now… My ignore box is full and it’s JUST of guild recruitment spam bots.
So a single advertisement of that, no… not too annoying. Spamming every 60 seconds with every other 60 second spam recruitment bot… yeah that would get to be a bit much.
Okay so in a singular instance it’s fine, good to know.
It’s also unlikely to be bots, not saying that there isn’t a chance that it is a bot but you can easily macro the advertisment and press it every minute while doing other things.
Using a bot to post guild advertisments is honestly quite funny, what a dumb reason to get banned.
Actually I think chances are high they are bots. As soon as you whisper them, even if it’s to… politely ask them to stop with the spam… it istantly invites you to guild and posts a welcome message from the bot to the guild and a whisper to you.
I’ve been in one guild since Classic, that guild sadly quit and splintered with Cataclysm and since then have been in 3 other guilds with one of those also quitting and the other one faction changing to Horde. Those two guilds were suggested to me by guildies from my first guild, the guild I’m currently in I joined shortly before Cataclysm pre-patch and getting in was just talking after a whisper to get more info and some chatting on their Discord.
So I don’t really have much experience with actually searching for guilds most of the time they find me lol. Even my first guild I joined was because my friend suggested we join it.
But to move away from options that might be a bot which it could very well be, it could be something like the enchanting addon/weakaura that auto whispers and invites (or just invites) when someone asks LF Enchanter X enchant. I remember people up in arms on the forums over that.
Oh, there’s also an addon that makes your ignore list unlimited, think it’s called global ignore list or something (i don’t use it).
There’s an option to “Block Guild Invites” under the Social section.
Enabling it should at least ease some of your frustration.
What’s clear is that you’re experiencing compounding frustration from multiple distinct but obviously related problems. As a result your perceptions may be exaggerated.
I genuinely haven’t seen any of this.
But I am on a low pop server. It has its cons; but in this aspect is a definite pro.

pretty funny that i got a in game mail thanking me for reporting players and actions have been taken against there accounts and all i do is report LFG spam so.

Since you no doubt report all the things you consider spam, I remain unconvinced whether, or to what extent, blizzard takes action against any players who post guild recruitment adverts.
Of all the in game spam I think guild recruitment bothers me the least, maybe find a new game if you can’t find anything better to do or ignore the spammers?
This post is so full of karens…it really hits home why the auto squelch feature is as broken as it has become and /spit had to be removed/body type 1 and 2 exist. Everyone is so easily triggered these days and no one appears able to function like an adult. If tiny words that exist on a screen that exist for literally for a matter of seconds have any effect on your life whatsoever you should go see a therapist.
At the end of the day you can just use the ignore feature if you are this immature…quit trying to ruin everything just because you don’t know how to cope and lack the emotional intelligence that a 6 year old has.
