EDIT: My bad, guys. I was looking into the “Community” tab instead of the guild tab. The cross-server guild master transfer worked. Seems like now you can promote a guild master in another server. I’m happy I didn’t open a ticket… /facepalm
I’m facing a weird issue in my guild.
My main is in Moon Guard and, by mistake, I’ve promoted an alt in Kel’Thuzad to guildmaster. No error messages, the crown was passed… No way to revert on my main, of course.
Since it was a mistake I logged on this alt to transfer the guildmaster back to my main… but I couldn’t do it, because when I open the Guild Roster in my alt it shows that my main in Moon Guard is the guildmaster. And when I log back to my main in Moon Guard it shows that my alt in Kel’thuzad is the guildmaster and neither can perform any guildmaster activities.
It won’t be false reporting, but you’re also right that a purchase failure ticket might not help since it didn’t involve a purchase of any kind.
But they also night not be able to help as this seems squarely in the Bugged descriptor-- so far as we know a guild master can only be from the same realm the guild was founded on.
Yes, I did search around and that seems the case. It shouldn’t be possible. I have no idea why the interface let me do it and now I’m stuck on my freshly created first guild
That’s just the nature of bugs, unfortunately. I would definitely trot over to Bug Reports and see if there are any threads of a similar nature and add your voice to them, otherwise start a new one so QA can take a look.
You could submit a ticket under chat and interface and see if that bears any fruit. Just be short and sweet, stick purely to the facts of the situation.
Something along the lines of “Promoted [character] from [realm A] to guild leader of [guild] on [realm B], now cannot pass lead back to first character.”
It may not be relevant, but some guild movement has a cooldown of 7 days. How long has it been since you first promoted the KT alt?
Haha! Yes. that’s the guild, I’ll try the full interface reset in a few minutes. It might be just a client issue that didn’t propagate to the backend.
EDIT: It was worth a shot, but the Full UI Reset didn’t work. Seems like something registered in the backend after all.
EDIT2: My bad, guys. I was looking into the “Community” tab instead of the guild tab. The cross-server guild master transfer worked. Seems like now you can promote a guild master in another server. I’m happy I didn’t open a ticket… /facepalm
