Guild/Discord Link

Hey all,

Having an issue linking guild to discord channel. When I click link, nothing happens. No errors.

  • My discord account is linked
  • I can see our discord in the drop down
  • I can click the channel I want
  • I am on my GM character
  • No addons
  • We run 2 guilds, I was able to do our alt storage guild without any issue

Any suggestions? My only thought is since it worked on our alt guild and not our main it could be just because we have 120+ people on right now and its lagging? Not sure.

It may just be that it’s too new? I have 26 on rn and just enabled it, but it doesn’t appear to stick, each time I go back in it’s like it was never set

Also, when I click “Link” nothing happens. I was hoping that someone had a fix for this.

I first went to the social options in-game and enabled discord functionality.

I followed the directions to enable officer role in discord to View Channel / Manage Channel / Send Messages. Then I go into the game as the guild master, choose the server and channel, then click Link and nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it broken?

No fix for me yet, 1 of our guilds its working just fine just not the other. Opened a support ticket as well.

My guild is having issues with it so far. I was able to link it but if I go back to the settings it shows blank. We’re able to post in the discord channel and it populates in guild chat but guild chat is sharing into discord. Our characters are showing properly in the channel too.

I’m also having these same issues. When I click link, nothing happens. I have explicitly followed the directions in both discord and wow.

Doesn’t work. Same as described above. Crazy how a big new feature just doesn’t work.

There’s a check-box for something like ‘use separate window’ or ‘use separate channel’ on the in-game side, I forget which exactly, but it apparently breaks the send/receive.

Our guild master is using that to mute the feature because it requires every guild member to link their account and if anyone doesn’t do that the chat channel gets absolutely spammed with “Sent a message to guild chat but has not yet linked their Discord account.” for every message in guild chat from a player who hasn’t linked their account. They’ve also temporarily set the discord channel to only be viewable by moderators of our server since they haven’t figured out how to un-link it.

Same issue here. Click Link to the channel and it then does nothing.

Tried disconnecting and reconnecting discord from BNet and relogging after doing so. One of my guilds have it but the character this guild is in it isn’t working. Can go through to select and then when select link it just doesn’t do anything.

I’m having the same issue; it gets stuck. Even though my guild has a lot of inactive members, there are over 500 characters in total—I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I even unlinked and relinked several times to check for issues; the server channels kept showing up, but the link button never actually worked. I even waited half an hour without a new option appearing, and it’s driving me crazy… If Support gets back to you, please share it here, because I’m at my wit’s end…

So I discovered a workaround for this using Discord’s moderator tools. Although strictly speaking this should be something that Blizzard should have considered before rolling it out.
