GW2’s version is a bit over the top to be honest. Dragonriding feels much more approachable and streamlined.

boy i disagree, i spent several days watching videos and trying to learn griffon riding and couldn’t complete any of the courses over there. it’s very much a skill you have to perfect
Yeah it’s far more difficult than some of these people let on.
I didn’t expect this, but I actually prefer WoW’s dragon riding.
Obviously GW2’s mount system as a whole puts WoW’s to shame, but I think the flying itself feels better with dragon riding.
