Guild Transfer Issue

Hi, I’ve currently got a ticket running for this issue, but was curious to know if it was my end or in general that the error was occurring.

When initiating a transfer, there’s a destination server box which is supposed to have a dropdown to choose the server you wish to go to. For whatever reason, when doing this for a guild, this dropdown box never appears and as such, the process never lets you continue because you haven’t properly chosen a destination. I was told on Wednesday that the information was being sent to the technicians, but as of yet, I haven’t heard anything to confirm if that has happened.

Most of my guild have already made the move, but I’m stuck as the guild process doesn’t work. I could transfer individually (which does have the dropdown box for destination server) but then I leave behind our guild which defeats the purpose.

Any help, or confirmation would be appreciated.

Thanks

Erm. Welp, the late night is definitely showing, hello autopilot.

I just tested out the service, the destination box is there for me. Have you tried a scan and repair?

If that doesn’t work, you may need to completely uninstall and reinstall the game.

Sorry maybe I was unclear. The destination server box is there, when you type into it it’s supposed to have a dropdown list of servers to choose from. Doing a guild transfer this dropdown list never appears and therefore it doesn’t think you’ve correctly selected a server.

As far as I’m aware, insofar as testing that theory just now, the dropdown box is merely a guideline.

Typing in the full realm name resulted in the continue button to light up just as it does when selecting that realm from the menu. Have you tried?

Though, ultimately, if there’s an issue at-hand that requires developer intervention, that’s likely information you’re only going to get by infrequent tickets requesting updates.

Yeah, I’ve tried that multiple times. I’ve even copy pasted the server name from a character transfer that the continue lights up on into the guild transfer and it still doesn’t work. I’ve had a friend try it as well and they get the same issue I do. The GM I live chatted with on Wednesday suggested that there was an issue with the destination server box as he was going to raise it with the tech team, but now you seem to suggest that yours works so I’m a bit confused.

Hmn, well that’s maddeningly unhelpful. Apologies for the roadblock, but it sounds like all you can do right now is just sit tight and keep everyone else in the loop so they don’t scurry off and join another guild.

Just to address the basics though… I assume you are the GL and there is no guild with that name on the destination server, although I would expect an error message if that were the case.

On top of someone else left behind to assume the mantle of the shell the service would leave behind.

Tbh, this could be what’s holding you back if everyone else is joining you on the new realm, but I wasn’t going to mention it if there was already GM involvement.

Yeah all those issues are addressed, I can type in any server name and I still have no luck. A same name guild would just force a name change in the next step which I can’t get to.
In regards to choosing a GM for the left behind placeholder guild, that one actually has a dropdown list so I can choose that quite easily from those left in the guild, but again, still greyed out.

Just wanted to mention that I am facing the same issue right now as well. Still waiting for the GM to contact me.

For the record, the Destination Realm is not having a drop down and putting in any Realm Name still does not get the Continue button to light up.

No issues in the other field to appoint placeholder Guildmaster. Dropdown works on that one and able to choose a guild member

Will update if I have any progress on this issue.

Just a shot in the dark, but I might think the issue is tied to Oceanic realm. The guild I am intending to realm transfer is in Aman’thul.

I have another friend who wants to transfer his guild as well facing the same issue.

Perhaps the drop down for the Guild Realm transfer is not able to drop down the list of realms for the Oceanic servers.

Just a guess. Still waiting on the ticket at the moment.

Do you have any updates with this? I was about to transfer my guild and I ran into this exact same problem.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. I’d pop in a ticket, have a GM take a look.

Out of curiosity, do you mean that GMs can do something about it if we can’t? I’ve had a ticket rolling for about a week and was told to just sit tight and hope it gets fixed.
I’m going to have to transfer tonight without the guild because it’s been a week and I can’t just have my entire guild disperse without me :frowning:

edit Probably should have tried in game before posting on the forums once I got home from work. Whatever was done during maintenance last night appears to have rectified the issue. The dropdown appears which subsequently lights up the continue box. Thanks!

I don’t know if this was ever solved but I did a realm switch and had to add my alt to my bank guild just to have someone to leave in charge. ?? Maybe the same problem?

Not a problem as that has been the way that guild transfers have functioned for quite a long time now. The guild is still on the original server, and someone has to be in charge.
