you could do it on a large scale, you would just need a lot of tickets and a decent time frame.
sure you wouldn’t be bale to do a run and pool EVERY item to specific people through this method that was in vanilla without raising some alarms, but it was doable if you were smart about it.
Playing with people you enjoy your time with is most important yea. DKP can be good but when new raiders come in they need a multiplier to catch up. The problem with not spending DKP on items because you are waiting for a BiS Epic i don’t find that big of a deal. The purples will still be going out to players who need them but the ones who are on a different track will want to pile up on DKP to guarantee they get the item. I honestly want to do that myself for Perdition’s Blade. After that ill take whatever upgrade is available

Not always. I remember epic upgrades getting disenchanted because people did not want to waste DKP and miss out on a chance at a BiS. Usually at that point officers would start forcing items on players. Incoming drama.
That’s not how it goes down in my experience. I remember sitting there awkwardly as it was repeated “Is there REALLY no one who wants this item?” as multiple people sitting on DKP let it get disenchanted even though it was an upgrade for both of them.
You’ll be saving for Perdition’s Blade, and so will three other rogues
If it gets to that point no one is spending DKP on upgrade then yes the items should be forced onto players. That’s just logically the best route for progression
yes there was a limit, and I hope they limit it to at least less than 3 items a week, if not 1 for loot trading. but I understand why they are adding it. I don’t necessarily like it, but its not my game…
People tend to stop caring about progression when they’re loot (woman who sells herself) in it for the bis. It’s just the nature of the beast in Vanilla. The hardcore raiders want the best items and everyone wants them.
Forced on them for the minimum bid? That creates resentment when the item they’re saving for ends up being that minimum bid out of reach.
Incoming g-quit of one of the guilds best DPS along with his 6 friends.
I think the best option is to tell players to be careful when handing out loot or hitting the need/greed buttons. When opening a ticket, have a disclaimer that loot issues will not be solved by tickets and abuse of the ticket system may result in account actions.
people need to understand that for progression sake, upgrades need to be taken. If I was saving for Perdition’s Blade and some t1 dropped that i don’t have and no other rogue is taking it, id feel obligated to take it even though im saving because disenchanting it would be a waste of time for everyone in the guild. As long as the whole raid team has that mentality, the guild should be fine.
yea, and there will be arguments but that’s just life. Someone feels something done was unjust and they try to get what they want to happen. I know if Perdition’s Blade dropped later in the night id be a bit pissed off but id just go take a shot and gank some mage for an hour till he logs.
It’s lumped under QoL improvements and we have a historical example of it from WoW’s patch history. Also there’s a bit of paranoia considering that Activision-Blizzard is making Classic and not just Blizzard.
They’ve been saying things like “sharding and loot sharing are in, since guild banks would be a minor change, we should be able to add them to Classic”
