Guild Banks Pt. 14

classic =/= vanilla

its not a time machine.

you need to accept this fact and accept we already know there are some changes because the deciding factor is not you, nor me. its blizzard.

I’m trying to figure out if you’re Ziryus’ alt, or just doing an imitation of him. Either way you’re wrong, as Blizzard (and Ion himself) have described Classic as a time machine. So much so that if a person fell asleep during Vanilla and work up now the game would look the same. So, in actuality that’s the fact. It IS a time machine. You are correct in that the deciding factor is Blizzard. And if you do the research, read what they’ve said, listen to what they’ve said, authenticity rules all. There will be no guild banks. Literally a 0.0% chance. But, again, you’re free to discuss whatever you want. So go at it.

I believe Phront’s point is that what drops won’t change even if you stack armor types.

Of course if you collude for loot rolls with friends that are also grouped with you because they can now immediately trade anything that is won as a result, the chances of getting whatever useful that drops goes up proportionately. This is the ‘gameplay change’ consequence that opening loot trades because of CS cost-savings enables.

And of course the relevance to this thread is some CS cost-saving measures are apparently worth implementing to Blizz even though they didn’t exist in Vanilla

And yet blizzard has also made sure classic is not going to be same as vanilla.

Classic != Vanilla.

What would be the benefit, exactly, of stacking warriors? If you’re the only plate wearer you’ll get it regardless. Remember that vanilla does NOT have “personal loot”. A group of five plate wearers will still see cloth belts.

If that’s the case, then why do you even want them?

If your answer contains any variation of “it’s easier/more convenient” then you’re gonna be playing the wrong game.

Agreed.

Odd quotes don’t count as characters now?
Blizz change some stuff last night?

Edit:statistically people will gear faster.

That answer hasn’t been used in any of these threads.
Some of the opposition has it on repeat though.

Does it run on plutonium and have a flux capacitor?
No? It’s not a time machine.

They wouldn’t recognize sharding and loot trading.
It would be interesting to see them rejoice over guild banks though.

Because it hasn’t been confirmed in Classicℱ.

Well maybe someone can hop in the classic time machine and fast forward to summer to see if their added.

Padre jumps in the Delorean and aquickly accelerates to 88 miles an hour sending him back to the future

Woot! Guild banks made it in. Oprah has declared her intentions to seek the presidency as well.
Kanye is still crazy. Blizzard stock has gone up as well. Lol

Oh yea sharding is in the start zones. Confirmed. Drats!

I really don’t think so, lol. You can keep asking, but those of us who genuinely want Classic (and not “Classic+”) will gladly keep telling you “not a chance in heck rofl”

I’ve answered this question multiple times. Why not look back and try reading.

Hint, it’s not for QoL.

Exactly which has been my stance from day one.

Might want to re read what i typed.
Ibsaid the only one they had that cannot be countered and if by chance i said something else it is what i meant.

You know exactly what i have said in the past and have agreed multiple times in the previous 13 threads and now for some reason you are taking issue with it.
You also seen to forget that I want guild banks also, along with a calendar.

It must really toast your cookies that you’re not the one to make that call. Lol.

Yes contrary to what the “qol/convenience” keeps saying. I can indeed. Keep asking.

Sorry was a bit tired at the time and

“and the only one needed in every single gb thread”

This part of your comment made it sound like you were saying guild banks not being in vanilla was the only fact needed to not put them into classic.

Guess it was a misunderstanding about what you meant to say and how I perceived it.

In a way it is because yes blizz can use any reasoning they so choose to tell us we added or did not add guild banks or any other feature or system.
So if they say it wasn’t in Vanilla yes it is the only reason they need.
Doesn’t mean people can’t keep asking for a decade+ though.

This is also why some here putting stock in blizz’s commitment to “authenticity” is very laughable when these guys go with the “blizz said” authenticity argument.
Only to watch as obvious game altering changes are being added because " fill in any blizz given reasoning" regardless of the impact to authenticity, core gameplay, or social dynamics.

The fact is guild banks have little to no impact on any of the core gameplay or social dynamics when compared to others we know are being added.

Again though thats not saying add anything because you added x.
That is pointing out some folks missed a boat that has already sailed.

No worries.
It happens and with all the smack talk going on distracting everyone from the purpose of the thread it can be hard to keep track

My problem, isn’t with guild banks per sĂ©. I don’t honestly think anyone could argue that not having them is easier. My chief problem is they are a non-vanilla change, and I believe they absolutely would be a Segway.
A lot of us have been around the forums since the reveal. Objectively, how many Paladin threads have we seen? It’s rhetorical. A frick-ton. Dual-Spec. A lot of support there too. There are others. I’m not going to name them all. You have the idea.
Each could be argued to it’s own merit. Heck, any / all post vanilla changes could be argued to their own merit, as they’ve been added by Blizzard.
And so it isn’t that I’m against guilds having an easier / more constructive way to manage resources. It’s the Segway they embody.
