Guild Banks Pt. 14

I have another fan. Lol

“IMO, if it existed during vanilla, let’s discuss it. If it did not exist during vanilla,” with that being said. Thats like saying no one can play classic except “Vanilla” players only, no one else cus only Vanilla player existed back then and ones that started playing in BC + didn’t exists.

Uhh… no. It just means that the game is recreating Vanilla and that discussing non-Vanilla changes is mostly futile.

I don’t know if I’d go so far as to say fan. How about “preferred opponent”?

Only if you CHOOSE to intentionally misrepresent what I said.

Show me where I said that only people that played vanilla can play Classic.

What it means is “Johnny, don’t push to add elements that were NEVER part of Classic in order to try change Classic into what you want it to be”.

I prefer the philosophical approach of; If TBC was delayed a year or two. What potential could Vanilla have had?

I can agree that things like flying, transmog, lvl 70, and crz absolutely do not belong in Classic. But, not because they weren’t in Vanilla. IMO that’s shallow.
Instead, because there are many many reasons showing how those “features” take more away from the game, than add to.

Simply saying, “because it wasn’t in Vanilla” just doesn’t cut it for me.:face_with_monocle:

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.
Regardless of how Classic turns out. We will certainly enjoy the crap out it. This much we can agree on.

If you were restoring a '66 Corvette, would you use the “philosophical approach” of “if design and profuction of this car had not occurred when it did, what potential could it have had?”

Would you add a CD player, satellite radio, navigation system, Bluetooth, heated and air conditioned seats, etc.? Or would you try to restore it as close to “factory” as possible?

This is where I should post a pic of my dad’s '62 Vette.

I would want a place to plug in my iPhone. Add a few gauges if there wasn’t already one for boost and oil pressure. I live in a small city that seems to have a lot of classic cars. Some done up with rolled fenders and huge slicks. Others appearing original while being heavily modded under the hood.

If I was to aim for completely oem design, I’m certain I’d be using a local machine shop for assistance. It would be cheaper and more efficient to just use aftermarket though.

However, restoring a car is completely off topic and irrelevant here.

Sure, some people like to keep the car as-is, others like to mod it. Hell, people were modding cars BACK THEN.

And then (and here we go…), safety wasn’t as much of an issue in the 60s. Is adding seatbelts and hands-free tech bad for the car? That depends on WHO OWNS IT.

Both classic and restoring that '66 Corvette are restoration projects.

In both cases, some people are more interested in convenience than authenticity.

People mod their vehicles because they enjoy it, not because it’s convenient. There is nothing convenient about swapping an engine. Having an engine hoist, however, is convenient.

You’ve taken us off topic and failed at making a point. Back to G banks?

Hey Fesz, I’m still waiting on that link where I said that traveling to a dungeon in vanilla wasn’t social.

What about that i-phobe charger?

Are you going to tell us all that there is nothing convenient about that?

What about it?
Still off topic and irrelevant.

Do you walk up to people in wheel chairs and tell them they’re not ‘authentic’, that they have too many QoL Conveniences?

Still highly relevant.

It clearly illustrates that some people are more concerned about their own convenience than about authenticity.

You have yet to illustrate this. :joy:

Because adding an i-phone charger to a '66 Corvette is authentic, right?

Because adding the non vanilla QOL convenience of guild banks, which were NEVER present in vanilla, to Classic would be authentic, right?

Plugging in a charger into the cigarette lighter is closer to downloading an addon. I can remove it anytime I choose.

You’re grasping at nothing.

This has nothing to do with WoW.

You’d better get that dusty ol’ PC and CRT complete with HDD outta the basement, that is, if you want authentic. I’ll be enjoying the short load screens using my Nvme storage.

Guess I’ll be going non authentic this time around, with my 21:9 screen
