âIMO, if it existed during vanilla, letâs discuss it. If it did not exist during vanilla,â with that being said. Thats like saying no one can play classic except âVanillaâ players only, no one else cus only Vanilla player existed back then and ones that started playing in BC + didnât exists.
Only if you CHOOSE to intentionally misrepresent what I said.
Show me where I said that only people that played vanilla can play Classic.
What it means is âJohnny, donât push to add elements that were NEVER part of Classic in order to try change Classic into what you want it to beâ.
I prefer the philosophical approach of; If TBC was delayed a year or two. What potential could Vanilla have had?
I can agree that things like flying, transmog, lvl 70, and crz absolutely do not belong in Classic. But, not because they werenât in Vanilla. IMO thatâs shallow.
Instead, because there are many many reasons showing how those âfeaturesâ take more away from the game, than add to.
Simply saying, âbecause it wasnât in Vanillaâ just doesnât cut it for me.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions.
Regardless of how Classic turns out. We will certainly enjoy the crap out it. This much we can agree on.
If you were restoring a '66 Corvette, would you use the âphilosophical approachâ of âif design and profuction of this car had not occurred when it did, what potential could it have had?â
Would you add a CD player, satellite radio, navigation system, Bluetooth, heated and air conditioned seats, etc.? Or would you try to restore it as close to âfactoryâ as possible?
I would want a place to plug in my iPhone. Add a few gauges if there wasnât already one for boost and oil pressure. I live in a small city that seems to have a lot of classic cars. Some done up with rolled fenders and huge slicks. Others appearing original while being heavily modded under the hood.
If I was to aim for completely oem design, Iâm certain Iâd be using a local machine shop for assistance. It would be cheaper and more efficient to just use aftermarket though.
However, restoring a car is completely off topic and irrelevant here.
Sure, some people like to keep the car as-is, others like to mod it. Hell, people were modding cars BACK THEN.
And then (and here we goâŚ), safety wasnât as much of an issue in the 60s. Is adding seatbelts and hands-free tech bad for the car? That depends on WHO OWNS IT.
People mod their vehicles because they enjoy it, not because itâs convenient. There is nothing convenient about swapping an engine. Having an engine hoist, however, is convenient.
Youâve taken us off topic and failed at making a point. Back to G banks?
Youâd better get that dusty olâ PC and CRT complete with HDD outta the basement, that is, if you want authentic. Iâll be enjoying the short load screens using my Nvme storage.
Guess Iâll be going non authentic this time around, with my 21:9 screen
