For anyone looking to prevent this bug from affecting their character until Blizzard develops a hotfix, do not interact with the guild bank. I have not touched the guild bank on this Mage since I logged back in. I’m able to play the game without incident. If you are getting the “character already exists” then log onto a different character and wait awhile until returning to the same character.

that’s just the server taking a moment to register that your character has logged off. Typical with a force quit and generally seperate from this bug. Wait 5-10min after a crash and it should let you back in.

i’m experiencing the same issue with multiple characters.
I logged in my 2nd account and realized that the bugged character remains frozen in the same spot, beside the guild bank, even if I move him or close the game, it stays there for a few minutes. when it disappears, i’m able to login again. but it still bugs.
hope they fix it soon.

Im starting to think I should visit Forums after every patch launch. I am now intermittently soft locked out of my toon just because I interacted with the G-Bank.

Having similar issue. I noticed items weren’t going into the bank. Then, that coin toss animation button gets stuck on my screen. I then try to /reload ui, that doesn’t fix it. I log out and log back in and then it tells me my character is already in the game.

I’m having a similar issue. One thing I noticed is that when I ALT+F4 out of the game and then log back in, the server still lists that character as logged in. Even if I sign in with a different character, the first character is still listed as online over an hour after I last logged in with them.

Also to note, it really is just you being locked into not being able to do anything. You can AFK like normal and then when you move you are no longer AFK. Oh well, gives me time to level my alts for a bit.

Same issue for me. I can put items in the guild bank but am unable to take items out.

I am having similar issues. My remote bank would not work, telling me I wasn’t in a guild. When I went to the guild bank, it would open but would not let me take anything out.
Eventually the only thing that worked was to actually grab the item and drag it over to my bag. Dont know how long thta will work.
This a very, very annoying bug as I have all my mats in my gb.

I’ve experienced the same issue and had to use the Stuck Character service in order to log in again.

Still happening.
Trying to interact with the guild bank or even personal bank and nothing happens. It freezes up. I can see everything else happening just fine. I can run around, greet people, but cannot open ANYTHING.
So, try to log off? No can do. Try to exit the game? Nope. Won’t let you do anything. Have to force quit the game, then I cannot log into that character for awhile.
Any updates, Blizzard? Quick hotfix? Sure would be nice to be able to play the game.
EDIT: I did notice someone mentioning this happened after they completed the Harbinger questline. I will confirm. My alts can get in, no problem. It’s the one toon who has finished the campaign quests that can’t do anything.

Exact same issue, my issue does not seem to have anything to do with the Harbinger quest as I have not completed it on anyone.

Same exact thing happens to me. Only happens on one character, and it was the character that started doing the Harbinger questline. I went through the whole process of eliminating possibility of addons or settings causing the issue and those didn’t seem to be the problem. I can only guess it has to do with the Harbinger quest activation that is the culprit.

Same issue since maintenance/update 05/07/2024. When I right click on items in my guild bank, nothing happens, stuff doesn’t move to my bags - and vice versa, if i have the guild bank open and right click on stuff in my personal bags, nothing moves to the guild bank. Additionally, when I use the guild bank or personal bank, my entire game becomes unresponsive and my character is unable to interact at all.

Same here. But then after the hard close out I had to do, it won’t let me back in to my character stating my 20 year old toons name is all ready taken. They are having serious issues. Majority of my 11 key toons I have been playing for 20 years with 18 yr old guild banks and they are in the twilight zone… sigh…guess they have never heard “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”

Same thing here with the gbank, forced to alt-f4 everytime I interact with the guild bank on main and alts. Then get locked out of playing that toon for awhile.

I am having the same issue, but now I can open the bank or the guild bank and I tried summoning Jeeves to see if that would work and it is stuck at something him, with the spell showing… is anything going to be done about this?
