Seems a bit bizarre even for Bellular to shadowban, especially since he has been willing to dish on Blizzard in the past.
Clearly not, given their policies. It might be the option you would prefer, but they demonstrably have other options.
I keep checking this thread every morning and every evening after work, just in case something happened while I was away. Because, you never know, there might just be another wave of mails coming. Probably not though.
More and more Iām giving up on Blizzard, a company that I have loved for more than 15 years, almost 20! I started playing Diablo II in 2006 and moved on to WoW in 2007. I went to Blizzcon in 2007 too! Iāve also attended Blizzcon virtually a few times. Iāve bought many mounts and pets in the store, Iāve also paid for character transfers and race changes, and a couple other services. Iāve bought all the Diablo games and bought a few physical things from the web store.
Blizzard has received a BUNCH of my hard earned money over the years. I am the very definition of a loyal and long term customer. I know a lot of us are, and it feels like they are just throwing us away.
Itās not just about the missing items from my various guild banks, itās the silence for almost 2 months while we BEGGED for a response, itās the lackluster fix when they did respond. Itās problem after problem, bug after bug, and a whole lot of silence to the customer base that keeps them in business.
We absolutely deserve a great big apology. Not just us, but ALL the customers.
HEY I was at Blizzcon in 2007 as well! Not as huge of a crowd as in subsequent years but had great spirit. I loved the concert where I heard āLament of the Highborneā for the first time and those first few notes of the āTristramā theme from Diablo got me elated.
I had actually only recently started playing WoW (in 2006) but loved the game so much! I heard people in the halls talking to each other about the best way to do the Orgriāla quest (one where you have to fly) and people talking about tier sets, etc . . . real people, in a real place and I was SOO excited, to be among other players, other fans.
Things use to be wonderful.
This is SO bizarre as heās never been afraid to be vocal about criticizing Blizzard. That one on quality was definitely critical and most of what he (and Matt) did during Shadowlands were very critical.
WHAT is it about this topic? Is Blizzard going out of their way to make sure that itās not talked about out loud in public? IF they are going around shushing people about this ONE topic, while criticism of their BIG 20th Anniversary event seems to not matter (is it because itās temporary?) then there must be SOMETHING about it that makes them uneasy.
And it IS weird that even in videos where many things are discussed, this doesnāt get ONE mention.
I donāt think there is a conspiracy at play, it would take too many people and they would all have to cooperate. People, being people, are not good at mass cooperation.
I think itās a simpler solution - this bug didnāt affect that many guilds and most people moved on from it. Those of us in the thread lost priceless memories, high value (in gold) items and/or mass quantities of stuff, years and years of stuff.
We may never know how many guilds were affected or how badly, unless Blizzard discloses that information.
Wonder if Bellular (whom Iāve watched for years now as I generally enjoy his content) will ban me? I just put another comment regarding this topic in his CLIPS video about the mount, where they were discussing how gold = money, because of the tokens.
You are probably right about this, but banning and shadow-banning people for posting comments about this to me is WEIRD. Iāve seen people outright INSULT Bellular, etc., without a ban.
2008 attendee here. I realized just now, Iāve been using the Pandaren drink koozie and bottle opener that they handed out for 15 years now. Here they are, sitting on my desk. I guess itās time to retire them and move on. Sad relics of a company in decline.
I didnāt expect this would be the way I would quit this game. I suppose I valued it a bit more than I thought. On the other hand, Blizz has made it fairly clear how little they value me, so here we are.
Maybe, but good memories are good memories, even if it has a bitter end. And in those days, it WAS good. So much fun, and the world still felt new and fresh.
2008 was a good year for the game. And if you were able to attend that year, you were LUCKY. Thatās when they had that disaster of a ticket-buying system!!! My friend and I wanted to go but were not able to get tickets. I think that may have been the year Blizzcon got REALLY big.
doesnt gamers nexus mostly just focus on pc news and reviews and stuff?
Iāve been to Blizzcon 3 times, and gotten the digital ticket for all the rest. Honestly if there was a Blizzcon this year Iād have been tempted to get a ticket, just to redshirt this issue directly to the devs. I doubt theyād have the patience for it though.
Well, been playing sense BC and Friday on live stream I will be quitting the game for good!! Yeah, it is a game but a pay for a certain level of trust and quality and this is the last draw. They have wasted countless hours pouring items into the guild and have not even compensated our guild AT ALL!! I pray others have more fortune then we have at Madison Cubs. I have 6 accounts and all of them will be deleted and they will never get another dime of my money. I really enjoy the game but we pay far too much for these types of things to go on. As a Linux developer and former emulator of this game, yeah finances were low and I joined TrinityCore and Azeroth Core so I could enjoy the game when i couldnāt afford internet and or tv being out in the Country away from city ISP. Knowing many computer languages and how tc/ip, backups etc etc work, I find it hard to believe how a company can be so successful and let something a basic level dev can prevent from happening occur and remain silent pretty much about it!!! Sure wil miss it, but this 53 year old man thats a bus driver am not gonna let this BS slide anymore!!! Hope ya all get your stuff back!!!
Kind regards,
Thrace
Bump.
Another weekly maintenance / reset (for timekeeping purposes) and Prince Blizz of Nigeria has failed to fill my bank account he emptied with treasures from his kingdom.
Hearing about more instances where people making any ticket on this issue are getting ban warnings. Itās absolutely mindblowing to be threatened by customer support for being victims of in-game issues that Blizzard themselves caused (and refuses to fix or take seriously). Really seems like a giant betrayal of not just us, but also several of their ācore valuesā as well.
Yes, but itās wasting GM time and clogging up the queue for people they can help. They are just the messengers. They have been given strict instructions that they cannot assist with this issue and do not have any more information than we do in this thread. Opening tickets will not accomplish anything.
This criticism needs to be directed to the right place. We need to keep trying to make it as public as possible. Tickets are like complaining to someone in the seafood dept at Walmart that the people in the auto service area messed up your oil change.
Assuming they can be believed, one of the EU SFAās lost their guild bank items too, and are in the same boat as us.
Could you point us to the right place? And donāt say here, because this is definitely not the right place to get any feedback.
Maybe Iām just old fashioned but back in my day customer service would service customers. Even if they couldnāt do anything personally theyād pass the issue off to the proper department or escalate it to a supervisor who could help.
For this itās like being told to fix your car issue the customer service desk canāt help, you need to deal with the regional manager. No customer service is not going to pass on the issue for you, no theyāre not going to refer you either, no theyāre not going to give you their number, no itās not listed either, no there isnāt any way to directly contact them, no you canāt complain about it, if you decide to complain youāll be banned from walmart.
Thatās the thing. It HAS been escalated. They have already done that. Weāre having a problem with the escalation team, basically. Bugging CS more isnāt going to help. I agree something needs to be done. But bugging the people who canāt do any more isnāt going to help, itās just going to get people actioned. And it hurts other people who have issues they can help with, by making their wait times longer.
For my part Iām hoping Gamers Nexus does a video on this. He will absolutely NOT kowtow to any companies. Heās done scathing callout videos on a bunch of diffferent companies. I made him aware of this, he said he didnāt know about it but would look into it. Keep in mind that games isnāt his primary business (his primary business is doing videos on hardware). But if a company does something shady he WILL call them out on it.
Iāve not logged in to see if anything has been returned but if I were a betting person Iād venture to say ā big giant noā¦
The good news is, I have set the bar so low when it comes to anything Blizzard does, I wonāt be disappointed any longer w/no restored items, or bugs, or anything they do, donāt terribly, or farm out to people who are not able to provide quality software and services.
