Thank you for acknowledging that, which is all I am asking from blizzard.
They have already put out a statement, whether or not you approve of their communication doesnt really matter.
Thanks for reporting in.
I have been checking my guild bank since the bank got wiped clean in August. I have sent bug reports and any other place that I could post a query. Not one of my questions has been answered. All of the contents of the guild bank are gone. This is not a guild that has gone to sleep, the toons are active. I am so tired of asking and not getting a response that I figured this would be my last shot at getting the guild bank contents back, or a reason as to why the entire bank was cleaned out.
The OP is all you get it seems. Iāve given up.
Bug reports do not yield feedback, for the future.
The radio silence on this is Holly Longsdaleās idea of listening much more closely to the player base. Sheās all about the alternate facts.
no clue who that is or why youāre calling them out by name
Google is your friend
I DO wonder if anyone who has spent time here or in the original Bug Report forum has or would spend that much money on a company that has pretty much screwed them over. Some people are quitting because of it, some are playing but may not be as engaged. But I have a feeling that for those who are aware of whatās happened to their gbanks, most probably would NOT want to give that much money. Blizzard has burned through a lot of good-will of a portion of the playerbase, who, even if they keep playing, will probably be more reluctant to hand over more money than is necessary.
I donāt even know what week this is, but still nothing no items back not even the runecloth that people have been getting or w/e.
Ive put stuff into my guild bank, Iām worried itāll disappear again. I have zero trust in Blizz.
It really really bothers me that they didnāt make a statement tons of people donāt know this has even happened, seriously fng shady.
they actually did. itās the first post in this thread. admittedly, itās a very long thread!
I donāt consider eloquence to be one of my strengths, but sure Iāll take a stab at it.
"Dear customer,
I, < insert someone high-up and not an intern >, personally apologize for the lack of communication, transparency, and honesty that has happened thus far regarding the data loss that occurred with the release of Patch 11.0.2 on August 13, 2024, resulting in your guild bank(s) losing items to varying degrees of severity.
- We should have been upfront about this major issue instead of delegating it to a support article webpage only.
- We should not have ghosted you for a month, but instead offered an update at least once a week as to progress (if any) so as to reassure you that the problem was being worked on.
- We should have been clear about the scope of what items were lost, those affected, and what could be recovered and when. Instead we left it all open to interpretation, which contributed to confusion and divisiveness not just among our customers on our forums, but also among our companyās support staff.
- The restoration mail that was sent out the one and only time on September 20, 2024 was unacceptably executed. For example, no items sent out should have been in any condition less than pristine and/or becoming soulbound upon being taken from the mailbox.
As a show of good faith, I will now go into what details I can share as to the following:
- The events which culminated in the data loss.
- What steps have been taken to prevent future occurrences.
- What compensation can be expected.
- How we will determine who is eligible for compensation.
- Policy changes to ensure better communication in the future.
< insert said details here for the second bullet list >
Once again, I deeply apologize to those affected. Itās because of loyal customers throughout the decades of Blizzard Entertainmentās history that weāve reached where we are today and it will only be because of people such as yourself that the business will continue to prosper in the future."
Humbly yours,

i think it needs more groveling. but not bad
I say well put. Not groveling, but actually making customers, especially long-time customers feel seen and important and that our faith and trust means something to them. BUT from what we got, we know thatās not the case.
Itās not unheard of for large companies who messed up to actually say such things to customers.
Why would you continue to support a company that you feel this way about?
Given a breadcrumb please provide affected guild and the guild GM and restored items will be mailed to that GM. Just enough of a hook to get me to resub. So I resub on 2 accounts and 6 weeks later, nothing. I feel Iāve been scammed unfortunately. Iāll continue to log on and check my GM regularly but doubt Iāll see anything of my 7 now empty tabs. Sub runs out in Dec for both accounts. In all honestly given the state of the game and the treatment I cant see me resubbing. If there was any time to finally move on this is the time.
LOL. Old me would have seen that $90 auction house mount in the store and thought about it right up till it was almost gone then went ahead and bought the thing. New me just laughs. Who in their right mind would sink that kind of money into something that could be gone in a glitch where the company has already proven similar things to happen and shown they donāt care. Not to mention the fact that I donāt really need the auction house anymore. All my items are gone. No more diamond tipped canes. Just glad I had my haunted mementos on my toon not in the bank. Nope sub is cancelled. If I ever play once it expires it will be a F2P level 20ā¦ Never will I spend another dime on a blizzard product.
I think itās time that South Park creators get made aware of this and if they are hope they make an episode about it. While World of Warcraft IP isnāt as popular as it was during Wrath of the Lich King, making fun of it and the parent company which more people would know would bring more attention to the gaming industry.
But yes, no one at Blizzard has made an official apology, offered more than a token bit of compensation or someoneās head put on the chopping block for this failure to test before pushing thing to live.
You can only get so much testing externally which people are more interested in whatās coming then actually testing for bugs, and because Blizzard doesnāt let the external testers test everything stuff gets missed, they might have caught.
Me too. I have the original AH dino, so I donāt even need it, but old me probably would have bought it, just because.
