Guild Bank Missing Items Bug -- Aug/Sept 2024

Somewhere in the 90.00 mount thread(s) what seems like hundred’s on the topic (but this one is forced to be kept to one which is glaring obvious why they are doing it) I kind of said the same thing… Something like I would not buy one and wonder why others would because it could one day disappear and never be returned.

Yah I’ve thought of this from the ToS. I remember the first time I read it. After so many years of not having something catastrophic happen, I started taking it for granted that the game was pretty safe, I guess.

It’s more the lack of customer service or concern about us as players that is the real problem for me. I never thought of Bliz as a questionable game company, or a company with such incredibly bad customer service as to be something I wouldn’t invest money or time in the game. I really miss that. Still hard to fathom.

Yah, when you look at the 20 or 40 posts about the same thing in the Rumble forum, it lends itself to them trying to hide what happened to guild banks. Why are they trying to hide this? When I think about the game, it’s like it’s on fire, but they didn’t want to tell folks part of the database burned down. lol

I have not gone down to visit the anniversary stuff. I have gotten to heal a few dungeons, and that’s fun. I can’t celebrate it, though. It really sucks. lol Such a strange situation.

I feel real bad for the PVP’ers and I don’t PVP. Their frustration is understandable.

I think this is the rub for a lot of folks. They figured (as in the past) it would be taken care of or they have all of the things they need to protect our time investment into this game – and they chose not to.

I went to the celebration only to do the world bosses and also the 5 x time walking dungeons (great way to level a character - went from level 76 - 80 in 5 dungeons (with buff and rested xp)) and to get the 10% buff. The rest of that stuff I don’t care about.

Same. And its sad because I certainly would have been celebrating if not for this. Nothing like getting robbed and told to deal with it because they’re allowed to rob you. Kind of ruins the happy mood.

A while back one of the mounts from the shop did go missing. There was an uproar on the forums, of course. The mount was returned after a day or two. One of the dragonriding mounts, I don’t remember the name, very druid looking.

I can only imagine what would happen if the new AH dino vanished.

I feel the same way. 14 tabs wiped out, materials I’ve collected from every expansion. I was going to use it to make armor I haven’t collected yet, or sell it to purchase those last two warbank tabs, oh well.

No mail was sent, even if I wasn’t getting anything I expected an in game mail informing me of the bad news. At least that would be a personal acknowledgment from the company I’ve supported for over a decade with an uninterrupted monthly sub.

I can farm mats to make the gear I don’t have the mogs for, no big deal I suppose. But it will require effort on blizzards to repair the damage to their reputation from this event. It reminds me of old school ninja looters.

There are a few things about this problem that irk me, but chief among them is the randomness.

I have 3 separate guilds, one was wiped out, one untouched and the third approximately half wiped out.

Why?

we know no more or less than anyone else. there’s no reason our guesses and assumptions are any better or worse than yours. we’re just being called trolls for not starting from the viewpoint of “everything blizzard says is a lie”

Doesn’t mention the guild banks but hoo boy.

Well I finally got a response from a GM that wasn’t just a copy paste, from a specialist no less. Unfortunately my issue here was still immediately dismissed and ticket forced resolved and closed. Whoever redesigned the customer support system to not support customers should be (and probably already has been) fired.

I mean why do they defer to developers to fix bugged players or restore items when they have no way and/or no channels to report bugs or missing items to said developers. Nobody is listening to us obviously, and there is no chain to bring issues to the top. And even when a bug is fixed there still isn’t any recourse to fix the damage done by that bug because I’ve never heard of developers here (or in any game) investigating and repairing individual victims accounts.

We’re drowning in the deep end and nobody knows/understands who’s supposed to be on life guard duty.

that stinks, but there’s nothing they can do. it can’t be fixed by anybody you can reach directly.

It will only get worse as MS incorporates it into their method of CS which is at best abysmal – unless you are a paying customer and then it is only above adequate at best at that level. I am not sure their games have any CS support at all so I would not look for this to get better… quite to opposite. I also think people should be prepared for the current CS and forum software to be integrated into more MS tools over the next couple of years.

the last time i had to call MS customer support, a few years ago, it was excellent. i had bought a copy of windows 10 thinking my old key wouldn’t work, then discovered it did. i expected a long frustrating phone call. instead i got a great rep who gave me a refund right away.

The system is designed to support players. What it is not designed to do is create items or bypass the development team.

Still deleted. Customer service is absolutely adamant they don’t service customers anymore and issues like deleted items need to be reported here for developers to notice even though I’ve never heard of anyone getting their individual issue fixed from here. Have no choice but to keep yelling into the void here until I’m eventually thrown back into the Maw on the general forum thread where we’re definitely being ignored and tormented until we fizzle out from entropy.

The game is falling apart at the seams.

They really need to come and put us out of our misery. If nothing further is coming to us in the mail (i have had nothing ) then say it so we can move on

It has been roughly a month since my last post. I have still yet to receive a single item restored from my full personal gbank.

I have opened countless bug reports and suggestion tickets alongside posting in this forum (per CS suggestion). Yet there has been complete silence from Blizz in this thread since creation.

I reopened my ticket from over a month ago today to question status given I have followed their instruction in their previous resolution.

CS response:
"From my understanding, you are having an issue with missed items from Guild Bank, and in this situation, you still need clarification on that.
After double-checking the situation, I can say that the Guild Bank items restorations have been completed: https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/guild-bank-items-gone/528709/731 "
~All decisions and fixes are made by the Dev team.
~CS cannot do anything about it.

Per the link provided, the blue post does not verbatim say that restorations are completed with no more in progress. Rather it states the other thread was not progressing and some have not received as much restored as desired…

Once again leaving players to question whether this issue is still in progress or resolved in Blizzard’s eyes.
Meanwhile, CS continues to push players to the forums and Blizzard has yet to provide an update here, where their response began.

Why care about paying players when they can simply ignore the word “player” and focus on “paying” and add a 90 dollar store mount to the game with massive QOL features. We are nothing to them nor is this problem.

At this point, I think its over, and there is nothing more to come of this.
I was shocked by their official response but now speechless, as they are, that they cannot provide one last update saying it 100% “resolved.”

Lol, what. This person surely hasn’t been fired, but rather promoted or at least got a raise because they came up with a plan to save the company even more money.
