Guild Bank Missing Items Bug -- Aug/Sept 2024

The EU thread had the same idea. Give afflicted guilds free guilded brutosaur mounts. Unfortunately it would never happen. Partially because I doubt Blizz cares enough to even figure out which guilds specifically got hit. Partially because I doubt Blizz cares enough to compensate any of them. And mostly because Blizz wouldn’t give away free $80 mounts to even one person let-alone tens of thousands.

Sadly… any revenue “pinch” those of us that unsubscribed may have leaned into… just became completely overshadowed.

No.
Throwing out ideas to compensate us.

I checked mine. @_@ Used it one day to move stuff. I don’t trust it either so I don’t usually use it, at all.

By all official statements there is no indication they have that. They certainly don’t have the data on what items or how many were lost.

No if they have that info (and I’m sure they do – easy enough to generate w/old backups/restore and compare) they are for sure not going to take the time to do that work and they sure won’t take a loss on revenue on this mount.

As long as you keep paying it doesnt matter.

This whole $90 store mount thing is already so genuinely offensive and unnecessary. But on top of the whole guild-bank wipe and sweep under the rug heist of 2024…pfft. This is so egregiously abusive and effed up. I worked in the games industry, i have so much love and sympathy for studios doing their best, and the usual awful working conditions for the employees trying to spark joy and be part of something great. Its -so- damn hard to wrap the idea that this crap is happening, and behind the scenes it is passed off as fine. Theres so many ways anyone there could make this better, but they’re not?! Have to keep reminding myself that I’m not crazy…this treatment from a company is NOT OK, we live in 2024 where abusive crazy behavior is just commonplace and the $$$ will always win. I guess.

How does someone get offended by a game?

Ohh also, the main posts were in the Bug Report forum, not CS.

And how is the $90 mount more offensive than the equally expensive beetle or more expensive brutasaur and spider?

The CS has a second post, in this forum, that mentions the gb situation is ‘‘fixed’’. I haven’t used mine since the deletion.

Me neither. Emptied everything, I don’t want to risk it.

I don’t think it matters at this point. They’ve shown that NO storage is safe. Your personal bank isn’t any more or less safe.

Yah I started pulling stuff out of my personal bank as soon as someone in a post somewhere mentioned they may reset them to tabs and get rid of bags. I know Vael says it’s not planned. I hope that is correct lol.

Anything of value now I want to keep is in personal bags (including gold). I’ll still use my GB for things that if I lose them again (and we all know it will happen again) then I won’t really care.

I guess it’d be too much to hope for a silver lining of the $90 mount funding recovery of our guild bank items, wouldn’t it.

ah yes, the two types of wow players: people who think blizzard is lying about everything, and trolls

you’re assuming they know which guilds are affected.

Do you think they just sent us our under 1% missing guild bank items randomly? I have no idea why some people got 0% back but to think they can’t track this is silly. My guess is that they didn’t want to waste resources restoring everyone and so they only queued up the first group and then called it a night.
