I gave the anniversary event a try, but it was the final nail in the coffin for me.
Not only do you need TWW for it, no you also need to be level 80 to participate. These new MS tactics are getting on my nerves now, I understand they want to sell their expansion, but this is going to far.
At no point in the past, were new players or alts locked out of content like this and they call this a celebration?
I logged into an old 70 alt last night and all the anniversary quests all showed up/are clickable. I do have TWW though, so maybe itās some sort of hidden/undocumented lockout for the folks who donāt have the current expansion
I tried the Chromie quest, the BRD quests and they are locked for me. While I can accept the quests, I am unable to enter the dungeons or LFR raids when the queue pops.
I also canĀ“t open the reward boxes that you get for the quests, like with the three world bosses, as they require level 80.
The only thing I can do at this event is kill said three bosses and run the 5 timewalking dungeons. What a great event and it shows that they try to push people into TWW and new players or those not yet interested in it, are left out.
This is not the Blizzard I have grown up with, first they delete my currency from DF so I can no longer upgrade gear, then the guild bank is wiped clean and now an anniversary event that is locked for me.
I wish you guys fun, but for me the game is now over, I am tired of being treated like that.
Iāve perused the bug report forums and there are a lot of things happening to playersā accounts that havenāt been attended to in any way, yet. Some are concerned because they have pvp progression rewards that they are not able to earn - for like a month or so, now.
Iām curious as to why Bliz CS wants to hide this particular topic so much, other issues are still being talked about in forums, but this topic - is locked and deleted promptly like itās some kind of odd, raging post. I honestly wonder if the company somehow got hacked? Like, from the outside? Why else would they not want anyone to talk about the guild banks situation outside of this thread?
I saw it said that they want to consolidate threads - but that is not the case Iām seeing for other topics. The Rumble forum regarding a bug that people are experiencing have about 20 different posts at least about the same topic. - Thatās not being consolidated.
In any case, itās truly sad that the company is no longer itself. I canāt enjoy the āanniversaryā event and will not look for it (it used to be down in the Caverns of Time - I still have some Leroyās Chicken from years ago that wasnāt deleted because I kept it in an altās personal bank.)
I havenāt logged in for a few days. I just feel ill about it.
I need to look through the thread for a list of games that others may be interested in or have suggested.
Because thereās nothing they can do. This (and previously, bug reports) is the most appropriate forum. By closing other threads, they keep this thread active and encourage people to keep their posts where they matter. Less about consolidation, more about simply keeping the posts where they have the best chance of being useful. Here, Bliz will see how frustrated and angry players are. No decision makers or fixers even read the CS forum. So yeah, posts on this topic in the CS forum kinna ARE odd, raging posts.
Heck, most issues donāt even warrant a pinned post.
They are hoping (and it eventually will) that the thread will die off and become quiet and once two or three people are left chiming in here and there, they will unpin it and let it die off into the abyss (much like our guild bank items).
I always look at if a person pays $15, they are getting access to the game, it costs Blizzard no additional money. When they make a game card and charge $29.95 for 3 months subscription, the player is making out because that brings the price down to less than $10 per month. Because you also have to think about cost to make the card and shelf space at the local store.
Now Blizzard does the opposite. They charge for a digital currency that is more than the subscription. Has no physical form and takes up no space in a local store which saves them money. They in turn make more than they do with a standard subscription and double down on if you convert it to blizzard cash you lose $5 verse had you just paid cash for the item.
Blizzard also does not differentiate between a 6-month and a 12-month subscription as both models you pay the same price but most other companyās do. Blizzard is all about one thing. Making as much money as it can off its customers and offering token compensation for issues.
Again, those that were affected, I am sorry for your loss. But you need to decide if you will continue to support Blizzard or vote with your wallet. Change will only happen when people stop excepting / gaslighting the type of behavior that Blizzard has become.
Might as well stick a fork in this topic and move along. If we havenāt received anything by now, we never will. They accomplished just what they wanted: bottleneck everything into one thread, stay silent t on any future replies and just wait for time to pass.
If these taught me anything, it that I know to pull EVERYTHING from my private bank before they make the switch from bags to tabs.
Honestly, it doesnāt matter where you put your items. Itās been demonstrated that NO storage is safe. Your inventory and regular bank are not any safer than the warbank or the guild bank.
While Iām also skeptical of personal banks, reagent tabs, and character inventories being safe in the future, Iād rather keep focus on guild banks and warband banks since those are the main issues right now. I imagine though that if these kinds of issues repeat themselves when it comes to the personal bank changes, itāll probably be the last straw for more people.
My guild bank was nearly completely full with profession materials I had two tabs for enchanting and tailoring alone and it is now gone a whole tab of darkmoon fair quests and pets is also gone. I have gotten a total of 3 items in the mail a stack of 58 cloth one potion and a one other single item. I really thought this would be fixed itās been two months since I put in a ticket and was told to wait it was being handled. I cleared my bags into my guild bank right before pre-patch for all of it to just be gone.
