Guild Bank Missing Items Bug -- Aug/Sept 2024

They already did this in the first post…

Just popped in for a quick look. Nothing missing from my guild bank or warband bank on my bank toon. Nothing missing from my main toon (this one) that I can tell.

Then again, nothing was restored, either…

you’re completely misunderstanding the situation. they don’t even know who needs restoration, let alone what items they need to restore. this is not something that can be fixed by letting GMs create new items for you.

evidently not, or this thread wouldn’t exist.

have any devs come here to give that excuse? no, that’s something the forums invented.

Nothing else missing from my guild bank…but then there is nothing in my guild bank…BECAUSE BLIZZ DID A NIGERIAN PRINCE MOVE AND CLEANED IT OUT.

I took screenshots on a warrior alt prior to the patch since the class can equip the most weapons.  After comparing with newer screenshots, it doesn’t really look like anything changed.  The count totals are higher because of new items added with the 20th Anniversary event, sure, but what I have collected has barely budged.

Given the staggering amount of items in the game, I have no real way of knowing if I’ve received retroactive credit or not.  :older_woman:t2:

Number three, the thing “I made up”

Do you remember the wall of NO?

It was no until they found out they could get a lot of subs back from private servers if they did it, lol.

That said, classic was only popular at the beginning and has really died down. I’m all for keeping it if even a small number of people want to play it though, it doesn’t hurt to have the option. And it’s already made, so it’s not like a huge team and a lot of resources are needed to maintain it.

Which I what I told the friendly CS representee, they told me I was making things up to suit my narrative. I saw the wall posted many times before classic, I guess the CS rep wasn’t here back then.

Yep, with big companies the answer is always “no, unless we can find a way to make money from it, then it’s suddenly yes”.

And there’s no money in recovering our stuff, it would probably require hiring temps to scour old data base backups, but I refuse to believe it “isn’t possible”. Thats all I was trying to point out.

It is not impossible. As someone who “repairs printers” for the last 30+ years I am very versed on what is possible or not possible unless there was a complete set of incompetent people in charge.

You’d be suprised at what can be done with the right people and skills.

Yep, and the problem isn’t necessarily that it’s not possible. The problem is their horrible and vague “communication”. It would be better if they just said “your stuff is all gone, deal with it”. Instead they’re trying to hide what’s actually going on, and leading people on with false hope, while saying “well, we didn’t technically lie”. It’s REALLY shady.

If they had just been upfront and SAID all of the stuff was lost, and didn’t use the weasely politician language, it wouldn’t have been as bad.

How about that, I do Konica Minolta and Kip myself.

In my previous tech support role at my job, one of my many duties was troubleshooting printers. 90% of those calls were “it won’t print, it’s asking me to add paper of a weird size”. The solution was “open the tray, and make sure the sliders are set to letter”. “That fixed it, wow!”

That’s what many of my clients call “jamming”.

Jams were pretty common too, but most were people being careless with the tray and the sliders weren’t exactly set to letter. So they’d try to print letter, and the printer would go “I don’t have any letter paper”.

I moved from support into QA back in late 2018, so I don’t do that anymore. (Not the same type of QA as what this game needs - my type of QA is reviewing and grading support calls.)

I had about 30 transmogs unlocked on my vanilla char, seems a bit low if I consider how much I played back then.

But ya, nothing lost so far.

I’ve been telling my co-workers at work about these deleted items. They are not gamers and never played an online game, but even THEY can’t believe how bad this issue is how awful it was handled by Blizzard.
