I also lost a polymorph tome, I think it was monkey? I don’t remember, because it’s gone now, Blizzard!!
I was hanging on to it because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to use it or sell it. Now I can’t do either.

Have they stated that restoration is still going on, or are they not even doing that anymore?
Nothing’s been officially stated beyond the blue post in this thread. However, it’s clear that the “restorations” were already done (meaning, most people got nothing). And no more work is ongoing.
As it has been over a month since they said they were sending out recovered items, sqfw to assume it is done.
And now that we’re down for maintenance, prepare yourselves for the influx of Tuesday trollers. >.>
Oh those have already started…several threads.
Thanks. No reason to turn auto-renew back on.
Same here as of today . Will check after update. Empty bank and cobwebs. yeah I won’t buy tokens anymore for mats, for professions. Sad. Anyone one want to buy a used guild bank? LOL kidding. Won’t do that to you fellow players.
More like, “prepare for a slew of new bugs” since this is supposedly a “big” patch
Google Sheets can be your friend.
If “the bug was fixed” why i need to buy with my gold at the AH things that i had in quantity?
The bug wasn’t fixed. Was ignored
Aug 6 this issue started to me when I wanted to get gold from the guild bank and the gold was not extracted…
More than 2 months later and without receiving even 1 linen cloth, my decision is this:
I have a 1-year subscription paid until Feb 2025. From that moment on, I will pay my subscription with gold. My dollar flow for WoW has dried up.
I always had millions, and the option to pay with gold. It was a matter of loyalty and dignity to pay with royal tender. Well, loyalty and dignity are over on one side of the counter, and they only leave me the option that it is also over on the other side.
They had the opportunity on August 30, September 15 to say “dear customers, we had a serious data problem and we will not be able to return the missing data. We apologize and we have taken steps to ensure that this does not happen again. We know how you really wanted what you kept but we can’t provide any solution.”
That is customer loyalty, and dignity in dealing with them.
It’s all about benjamins, sorry, pixels
All they can say is the bug that caused the issue to begin with was fixed, so no more items disappeared after that.
But they did not resolve the issue it created. At all.
Btw, if you pay with gold, Blizzard gets $20 every month you play. That’s not really punishing them.
The bug by all accounts is fixed. The data lost is gone.
Yes, and no. Someone else would have paid the $20 for the token regardless. It just means that, in this case, Blizzard isn’t getting Nanite’s $15 as well.
Here is one of the lasting issues now though – How do we know it was fixed?
We sure can’t go on what they say?
It has been demonstrated they cannot be either open or honest, so the trust factor is now gone.
You have a point, but neither I nor anyone else I know has had anything else disppear after the initial poof.
Well, this is true, but I never had anything disappear before (well that I knew of).
Yeah…I’m as confident as it’s possible to be under the circumstances that the issue that made the items disappear to begin with was fixed.
That’s not the issue. The issue is how they handled it after that, and that they not only provided NO RESOLUTION AT ALL to most guilds, they didn’t even tell them they aren’t going to get a resolution. I would have more respect for at this point if they’d just have the guts to make a post saying “noone’s getting anything back, sorry”.
There are scattered reports in this thread that people have seen things disappear. I obviously can’t confirm someone else’s experience. All I can say is that for myself, I have not had other things disappear to date.
I do think that the bug that caused the issues is probably fixed at this point, or we’d have a lot more traction based on a lot more angry people.
As to those scattered reports, it could be this or, perhaps even more likely, it could be something else going on.
