Any spec can casually raid… It all depends on how serious you want to push progression.
“Progression” ? What progression? This content is rote.
Uh… wut?
You’re gonna have to post a source on that, because thats the first ive heard.
I think you’re mixing up “we aren’t implementing the altered 1.12 loot tables until Phase 5/6” with “retooling gear”, which is NOT a thing.
Oh I meant the phase 5/6. I read it as them altering loot a bit to more match the classes they were for.
whats your spec
This has always been feral though.
And this was my vanilla toon
supposedly you can dps as feral with 3 things…
first you need a flask to increased your mana by 2000 this helps enable power shifting on long fights like raids
second you need that level 40 crafted wolf helm (mini furor effect) because it stacks with furor (if furor is working) this supposed to allow you to shift out and back into cat to constantly refill your energy bar when its empty making you generate a lot more energy than a rogue (again if it isn’t bugged)
and lastly you need to farm that one mace (crowed pummeler) from gnomer over and over and over and over, because it has 3 charge an on use that gives you 30% haste (also the stats are good for druid) switch it in on bosses to basically give yourself bloodlust.
just stuff I read can’t say I have tried it but supposedly you can top the damage meters as a feral using this method
If your guild’s raid composition is so crap that you being feral dps causes an argument, then you should abandon ship because they don’t know wth they are doing anyway
Everyone can’t be top dps, and the meter won’t have everyone equally balanced anyway.
They added stuff for the hybrids (Librams for Paladins, Totems for Shamans, Idols for Druids) that went in the ranged slot that those classes couldn’t use, sometime around Patch 1.10 or something.
When they added these items, they added them to loot tables and shifted items around to balance the loot tables. This was also when some of the existing blue items in Scholo, Strat, BRD, uBRS and DM go upgraded slightly to be more in line with what they should have been.
Gee, wonder why you’ re having trouble keeping your raids filled if you insist on such a high caliber of players that you can’t fill a raid, but you refuse to give any of the stand-ins gear.
Not every guild is doing a full clear MC the first night they enter. And BWL is going to be a real problem for a lot of the playerbase.
Guilds can 25-man Molten Core without the meme specs and gear up faster the 25 players who aren’t expecting to be carried by everyone else so they can play a snowflake build.
The fewer people you have participating in raiding the better, eh?
Just fyi, the hard part of raiding is not killing the bosses, it’s about maintaining harmony within the guild. If Classic had personal loot then no one would have a problem filling out empty raid slots with substandard players.
But loot is raid-wide and those players who are INTENTIONALLY playing a mediocre spec always expect equal loot priority with players who are not only carrying their weight in the raid, but that of those mediocre players.
There is no sense of fairness where, for example, a balance druid gets cloth dps gear over a mage or a warlock. That is rewarding mediocrity and the good players will recognize that immediately and start looking for more equitable guilds.
And this is not even considering the players who also want to play a meme spec but don’t want to be carried, so they make a personal sacrifice for the sake of the guild and heal in raids. To have a dedicated slot for a meme spec because he doesn’t want to heal is insulting to your healers.
But you go ahead and characterize my interest in fairness to players as elitism.
My understanding is the hardest part of vanilla raiding is getting 30 warm bodies to show up every week. I guess you solved that problem by turning them into 15 player raids.
I understand bosses don’t drop a lot of loot, but jeebus. Talk about stingy. Where exactly did that “community” go?
Behind closed doors that say “keep out, scrubs!”
once again, you want to characterize this as elitism. It is not.
Raids are a guild-wide activity. If you actually care about your guild and your relationships with your guild members, you don’t want to be carried by them. You would be willing to fit into whatever role increases the guild’s chance of success in any given raid. I love playing feral but I am 100% willing to heal in raids because healers are the hardest role to fill. But if we had plenty of healers and I had a chance to dps as feral? I would jump at the opportunity provided other healers had a similar opportunity.
People who intentionally play suboptimal specs IN RAIDS and then get upset that there is pushback are actually the selfish players in this scenario because they are putting their personal interests ahead of the guild.
LOL.
Of course it is. You are forming a tightly closed group for the purpose of avoiding all interactions with your inferiors and making sure you never have to share loot or your own personal presence with those who are unworthy.
So if you get the pre bis and pummlers and have your rotation down you can push a little over 500 dsp according to warcraft logs. If you’re a good feral PS druid that is pretty good dps for phase 1.

Dunno much about druids but isn’t T1 and T2 focused on spells and stuff?? Ik tier gear doesn’t make or break a toon but it has to help ya?
