Rating won’t be needed for gear atleast for pvp upgrades.
I’m guessing the people who enjoy arena will still do it of course, but gear/pvp upgrades are a big incentive whether we like it or not.

I don’t know if low-mid MMR players needed another hurdle.
Rated solo shuffle will replace arena if its good enough but it will still be pretty high participation wise
Im kinda 50/50 on this. Some are really buying into it, but I’d say half of my friends hate solo shuffle. Guess we’ll see.
Id like to think solo shuffle is more player than comp based
Probably true, I did find the gear discrepancy especially in the beginning of SL to be atrocious to a point where a good player would be walled by geared mains.
At the very least I see it being very popular if gearing isn’t bungled. I just hope that it’s given a glad equivalent, like an armored ground mount called, like, Crimson Shuffler’s Snuffler and it’s just like a big spikey armored thing for 50 wins above 2400 in shuffle.
It was rough to miss vaults.
I’m not convinced entirely, but I’ll give it a go. There definitely is a randomness factor to it. The ingame voice or some quick way to get into voice will probably be huge.
In-game voice works, I think.
Eh, idk about this. MoP gearing wasn’t really that hard from what I’ve heard. Same with WoD. And Legion had templates. People started to get really fed up with PvP once BfA hit. I feel like PvP just needs to be fun and easy to get into more than anything.
Also, there’s still a gear progression in PvE, and I assume it’s tiring for PvErs to farm two different sets of gear and that issue would turn away most from getting into PvP.
i wonder how many people actually play arena to go from 1200 to 1600 for serotonin hits
and i wonder how that number stacks up to the number of players that quit because of the obscene gear grind/disadvantages
like i just came back to the game yesterday having not played since end of last season
i’ve been playing this game for like 10 years
i have friends and a massive amount of games played / comfort
and i cant q my 280 character in lfg at 1400 without qing into players with 40k more health than me
like??? if i was just a casual player or a player that’s not extremely comfortable in arena i would just flat out quit
it’s not fun it’s not rewarding it’s not engaging and it’s not even close to fair
give incentive to do arena then?
mogs. mounts. titles. achieves. new skin colors, etc.
devs just need 2 not be poop
Hell yeah I’d love to make my blood elf have blue skin
They already do, though. Rated PVP has the most rewards of any major content type.
idk why they don’t take advantage of the glyph system
red chaos bolt? 3000 conquest on a vendor
casuals can farm them by spamming low arena/rbgs/weekly events with no seasonal deadlines / no rating requirements
some cooler ones for high rating like red ret wings or gold lightning bolt? 1900/2300/2500/2800 ect
that would at the very least increase both casual participation and incentivize players to queue alts to collect the rating locked colors since right now everything is accountwide
Yo for real someone did a showcase of Paladin abilities but BE Blood Knight themed a while back and it was legit some of the coolest stuff ive seen in a while
Edit: things like this https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/u5zist/concept_paladin_avenging_wrath_wing_glyphs/
can add more variety then
More stuff is always fine, but won’t boost participation to a significant degree. That’d require structural change.
makes ashes of alar an award for getting 1400 in 2s and there would be a million ppl playing 2s tonight
doesnt have to be ashes of alar. just a dope azz mount. they could even make a new one . or something. idk. they r game devs they get paid to do all the brainstorming and doing
doubt it
classes are looking cool (all those torghast dev hours are going into class design), ranked solo shuffle is looking cool (very casual friendly), most promising expansion since wotlk/legion
