group reporting in pvp is out of hand. Players band together to play in BGs and then they group report people for petty reasons. Blizzard is failing at their job and its ruining casual pvp.

They just don’t really want to spend the money on moderation staff so they have by and large left moderation in the hands of the players and what a mistake its been.
from silences and all the way up to suspensions and bans can be handed out by mass reports the only 2 things blizzard themselves actually look at the evidence before acting on is suspensions and bans. (thankfully)
pretty sure in classic wow at 1 point they tried to leave the moderation system entirely in the hands of the players by giving them the power to ban and suspend players by just mass reporting and of course naturally it was a disaster and they walked it back.
You had well performing players in bgs just getting disconnected and banned mid game cause the whole enemy team reported them.
I hate to say it i really do but the community on this game is not the host of angels blizzard would like to imagine it is. From the blood plague in classic to the zombie thing in wrath the players have very clearly demonstrated that if you have a system that can be abused they will find a way to do it and grief other people.

Ive been silenced for saying “lol” in BG chat…
I appealed and won and account was unsilenced.
And that is why im of the reason that 95% of the wow playerbase really need to have a cup of concrete.

mass reporting is real
Too real, I was in a BG with a bunch of xp exploiters in a 50-59 BG… I literally said “lol at those that have to exploit to pvp”
They mass reported me until I was kicked out of the BG. I apparently got the last laugh though as I happened to be VODn that day and got it on video, sent it to blizz, 3 days later for an inperson email about “thank you for reporting cheaters” and I never saw them again.
Now if only they responded as fast to other exp off exploiters in lower brackets

Kinda dependent on the group your with if im being honest…
A bunch of people that have had some life experience, dealt with serious stuff or just know that talking smack is part of the online gaming experience
or
Closeted nobodies that havent seen the sun in a few days and grasp onto “victim” ideologies because “life is tough if im not special”

no she gets targetted by dks (despite not being a mage or warlock or druid), she gets reported for saying “its as shrimple as that” and she gets flamed for having better transmogs than everyone else
