I’d just like to add that group loot has a bunch of other problems, specifically around irrelevant items dropping and it being terrible for people looking to build transmog sets.
I’d like to see the return to personal loot for all raid content. Just remove trade restrictions in group content that isn’t randomize (ie the same that can be cross-faction).
I like the group loot, in a guild run it is not a problem.
Although, I believe that many guilds would prefer to have master loot enabled.
Why can’t Blizzard implement loot method = Master Loot when it is a Guild Run? The game is able to detect when it is a guild run, it says over there in the mini-map.
For non-guild runs, it should remain personal loot, in my opinion.
→ not enabling Master Loot for non-guild runs also prevent the formation of the infamous GDKPs on live.
Ah. So the system you lied and said would already be in place at launch to assuage the fears of people that the loot system would be exploited by obvious situations like this.
I like the idea of options. Personal loot, group loot, master loot. Different groups prefer different things. I understand why people didn’t like personal… but some groups prefer it due to very logical things (imbalanced groups). I went into LFR the other day to try and get a piece of tier and 12 people in the group were on the same tier token. This is content that is being run mostly for the tier and its hard to argue PL wouldn’t have evened out the odds.
folks who don’t play dps warriors may not be aware, but fury warriors - at least, the majority who use 2h weapons - use arms loot spec, which invalidates the “safeguard” blizz put at the end of their notes as they stated it applies to fury loot spec. This means if I already have the item that just dropped equipped in my main hand and need another for my offhand, I’m screwed unless I remembered to toggle loot spec back and forth before/after raid.
To be sure, it IS a simple matter of being vigilant about loot spec, but thats still just another thing to babysit and inevitably its going to penalize some warriors who don’t deserve it.
These are issues that didn’t need to occur in the first place. Now they’re taking up time and effort that could have been put elsewhere. Personal Loot should have remained for LFR, with the options of either Personal Loot or Master Looter for guild runs.
That would be swell. Ironically, I love the color of the tier set for the current tier, and now this change is coming out which basically makes it impossible to get.
Why even make LFR colors anymore if literally only LFR players can get them now?
