Group Loot in Raids

Yeah, the obvious solution is to go from a character where you can carry the group, to one that’s barely at the minimum ilvl required to be there.

Group loot with NBG sounds like such a great idea.

It is a throwback to the older versions of wow. There’s a visible interaction after the boss where you get to choose what to do on items. It sounds fun.

Except that interaction can also seem really unfair because you get to see it happening. Personal loot still relies on RNG. But now it’s front and center because we see a 10 people rolling need.

Now you’re now trying to spaghetti code in a thousand exceptions to prevent abuse. You can’t really get them all, and really, that’s not even entertaining the concept that other folks do want items from LFR for transmog or for the mounts you can buy for rings/necklaces.

Just bring back personal loot. No matter what you do, some folks will try to game the system, but at least it doesn’t create nearly as much toxicity in the process.

All I ask is that you try to rethink some of the trading restrictions - you know, if I had an ilvl 400 2H weapon and got an ilvl 390 Off-Hand, which was higher than any Off-Hand I’d equipped, I couldn’t trade it. That seems like a much smaller problem to fix.

Umm…yeah?

Me: “Sweet, I have more health and I can hit harder now!”

Them: “Sweet, now I can link my outfit in trade chat and ask people how awesome looking I am!”

There are people who play this game who don’t care how big their numbers are, only what they look like.

Saying 1 perspective is worth more than the other is just an opinion at best.

Welp there goes any chance of people being able to get lfr mog, guess we need to wait 4 years for it to be soloable

In my experience, people who run solely LFR aren’t really interested in having more health and hitting harder, since they’re riding the bottom of the damage meters where the healers are, and constantly dead.

On the other hand, “them” AKA, everyone carrying LFR, are looking for transmog pieces for their outfit, and understand there are way better ways to obtain gear to “have more health and hit harder” than just running LFR.

Correction:

8+ years (BFA came out 5 years ago and still can’t solo LFR in it)

I was just being sarcastic. I think many click the need button even if they don’t actually need(for any reason) the item but just out of spite because it’s LFR. Blizzard should know better.

As a sign of protest, I have been passing on ALL loot in LFR. It doesn’t seem to be catching on and I’ve missed out on some good loot! Bliz should make it so if you change your mind a few days later and request a re-roll on the loot. It’s really unjust if I pass on loot and someone else wins it with a greed roll. Especially if I am going to change my mind in a few days. Stupid.

they aren’t… and you’re correct. they are there to grief others… period.

Oh on that we agree… but since it didn’t the people who pushed for group loot should indeed suffer and have to wait how ever long it takes for them to solo LFR.

Hi player here that collects transmogs.

No I’m not there to grief others, usually I actually end up carrying LFR groups along with others from our guild with the purpose of getting transmogs.

I also do a lot of other content to get transmogs, such as trial of style, legacy raids, open world content, and PvP, none of which I do to “grief others”.

You never heard about anyone having an issue with getting transmogs from LFR because it never was an issue until this hotfix that was just put in 2 days ago.

But personal loot also lets high geared players come into LFR and win items for transmog in place of others getting items as gear upgrades so this makes no sense.

i feel like we used to have have bonus loot rules for this kind of system and I’m so tired of running my alts through LFR or Mythics and people are needed crap they have better OR winning both teir and dropping group. if you keep it bring back bonus loot. or go back to how it was. this is silly… how can a priest need on an agility staff? Seriously?

My favorite strawman that people keep posting is that “normal/heroic/mythic raiders asked for this so they can get shafted with getting LFR transmogs!”

I NEVER asked for Group Loot in LFR. I wanted Group Loot (not even Group Loot actually, I wanted Master Loot) for NORMAL/HEROIC/MYTHIC, NOT LFR. Don’t blame US (normal/heroic/mythic raiders) for Blizzard’s incompetence. I think personal loot works great for LFR and never had any issues with it whatsoever.

What I DID have an issue with was Personal Loot in normal/heroic/mythic, when half the time one of our raiders would get a piece of loot and they’d say “I don’t even need this, but I can’t even trade it because of the loot restrictions.”

Don’t blame me and my raiders for Blizzard’s incompetence.

this is not good enough. I will never raid as long as you guys continue to implement the roll based system in raids. I have literally did 3 raids and got ZERO effing loot.
I am not saying the system is rigged against me, but it is clearly the least rewarding system per time spent in game. I could have done so many other things that could reward me gear then participate in a raid that yielded absolutely nothing.
the system is rotten from the core.

I absolutely despise the current loot system in raids.

Bad systems are bad systems.

I already hit plenty hard, so from my point of view it’s exactly the opposite. See how that works? Your opinion is only important to yourself, same as everyone else.

It’s not easy when you have a full time job and everyone on your realm wants to raid late all the way up to midnight and you work day shift.

BoP loot the postmaster mails you that would have been tradable if looted normally is always soulbound. It’s a weird little quirk but not exclusive to this new loot system.

Someone has probably already replied to tell you this but it’s a long thread  sorry for the redundant info if so.
