If you haven’t quit in BFA you will never quit. They’ve lost so many players. They can only gain with this.

Yes they really do.

I am in the same situation, my SO absolutely refuses to play anything but WoW. Not so much because he finds it the end all be all, but due mostly to the time he has put into WoW. I totally get it, I just disagree.

edit: Speak of the devil, and he shall appear below me :stuck_out_tongue:

Apples and oranges to compare the return of a Vanilla experience to ripping out a core game mechanic that has been in the game for longer than it has not.

Sunday was yesterday but I’ll bite.
Blizzard didn’t do this change out of no where, lots of people complained and are fine with the queue system now.

And if we speak more about Classic, Wildstar would like a word with you on how a game will do tailoring only to the ‘‘hardcore’’.

Bingo.
I am relatively new to this game and the most fun I’ve had leveling a character was my first one, when I had no access to 'looms. The problem is you need the 'looms if you want to be competitive. The rare dungeons where people make smalltalk, and even go after optional content just for fun, are when the game is at its best. It isn’t the dungeon finder tool, it’s the structure - how content prior to the endgame is made obsolete/useless.

I almost wish Blizz required old raids to be completed in order to move forward with further dungeon/raid content, at their appropriate levels. Make that lower level gear still matter, even if just a little bit. With appropriate difficulty, this could result in people actually investing in a toon beyond 'looms and the last 10 levels before cap, and still having to communicate in pickup-groups in order to surpass challenges during leveling in order to access later content on that character. Rather than just queuing dungeons over and over till you hit cap and get to the actual fun content.

Of course this could be a terrible idea. I don’t know. It seems to me as a player that just started w/ Legion that so much (very good) old content is not accessible because of this unless you join a guild specifically for the purpose of leveling characters through this content together.

TBH I never use it anymore and when I did it was to get something real quick. It does kinda kill rarity and no friendships really come out of it - it’s a feature that allows you to use people for a whims worth of content.

They can lose the players that remain. If you want this, just play classic.

Actually, removing Group Finder altogether is one thing that would likely kill WoW, so no, no thanks, hon.

lol OP, good luck with this. Most of WoW logs in for world quests, warfront gear, and welfare gear.

Well the problem (as you see it) is far greater now. With how accessible it is to play with others, removal of LFG kills many friendships people may have made. To keep the friendships going, it would require people paying for xfers to even play together.

Besides that massive thing, dead servers arent going to improve now and will stay dead. If anyone thinks there server is dead now, remove LFG and those dead servers will stay dead. Why would anyone go to a Low pop realm if those are the only people you can play with again?

This is the truth. I love seeing people say there is no community/convo in retail, but the fact of the matter is there very well can be if you want it. You know how many random people I talk to in my M+? Quite a few, the problem with some Classic fanatics is if you are not limited by having no LFG/LFR/LFD then there is somehow no community.

How is that not present in retail? Go solo a heroic dungeon, for the vast majority of people they can’t.

And this is why I cannot agree with Classic. The double standard. Retail has some stuff that has suffered for other areas, Classic has similar problems but for different reasons. Why is your vision worth the bad, but perhaps someone else’s with Retail is not?

Thanks for replying! I might fire that game up again. I made a cat-man (whatever they’re called) but didn’t make it much past the first zone, although I do own the base game. Maybe I can talk my girl into trying it with me.

Good luck!

If you don’t like group finder go play classic or just don’t use it.

If group finder goes - so goeth 100s of thousands of players.

You’re saying all these players will quit, so what. What about the millions that will come back. You may quit, but your friends will come back and then so will you later.

But why would anyone talk? the majority of individuals don’t feel like talking to strangers unless it servers a purpose and since you can faceroll your way to victory in LFD and LFR then why even bother? As i see it human interactions are like small emotional investments i’d much rather not do if i’m not going to run into you ever again and there is no other practical reasons to interact.

You’re just condemning players who play on already dead servers to an absolutely cruel fate.

Group finder is great for facilitating instanced group content. There are other ways to build server communities without having to remove a tool as useful as group finder.
