I knew it was going to be bad when Blizzard doubled down on “No, we aren’t going to implement armor upgrading like MoP Remix” but dude… For having been buffed this feels absolutely horrible so far. The power gain at level 80 is already an insane slog compared to MoP Remix.
Motes of a Broken Time when combined are producing terrible gear thats hardly an upgrade and most the time for slots I already got items for so the ilvl isn’t moving. The Infinite Knowledge I am getting is abysmal as well. It feels like a terribly painful grind at level 80 and I feel like I am making no movement for how much effort I am putting in.
This feels like another instance of Blizzards “We know better” where players like myself gave feedback in beta that it was bad, to bring back upgrades from MoP, and instead of listening they “fix” it their own way and it feels absolutely miserable.
Right now, MoP Remix >>>>>>>> Legion Remix in terms of being a “fun” game mode where you get to feel overpowered. Legion Remix feels like a classic season more than a remix.
Absolutely disappointing so far at cap and that’s ignoring all the bugs like Rares that you don’t get credit for killing like Harbinger of Screams and various other rares that end up only giving you like 2-4 bronze when you kill them. The absolutely awful lag that has been present today also sucks.
I can’t do raids since if I join a group it breaks my game…so the only way to get infinite power is killing mobs, and good lord is it tedious. Sometimes you get 200 infinite power from one mob, sometimes you get 500 or 600! It’s the same thing when herbing or mining.
Couple this with the lag and it feels ESPECIALLY frustrating to play right now.
This is Exhibit A of not respecting players’ time. 50,000 (+?) infinite power to upgrade the infinite track on the artifact for a tiny boost in efficacy
I personally love the ramp up. There is a fair bit of work to do before you start grinding: lorerunner of the 4 zones, run the dungeons once, LFR of the two raids, get started on the heroic world quests.
Phase 1 is all about getting the available infinite knowledge engine going
before the crash I ran heroic violet hold (or whatever that prison dungeon is) for a research quest and went from lv 40 to 45 @ 45% xp boost on artifact. My focus has been on just doing quests but I have to imagine a group grinding dungeons efficiently could hit 80 in a couple hours
I guess because of the frog exploit, they nerfed the bronze and dust income a lot right from the start.
I am in heroic mode and something the mobs drop like 2 bronze for me. This is a bit silly, but meh, it´s just something to waste time with, until housing is released and WOW becomes a new game for me.
Dust, possibly. Bronze seems fine. Just normal play (bit of questing, some dungeons, gathering herbs/ore, dailies) i made about 300k day one and i think that’s reasonable
I didn’t start to feel like I was really “going infinite” in MoP remix for over a month so it’s going to be a while before I feel I can make any comparisons.
The event has been out for literally 27 hours out of a possible 2500 and we have people complaining about not being finished upgrading. The WoW community in a nutshell.
I poked around for a few hours before the lag monster evicted me. Did the first artifact quest, and some of Azuna. I also did some of those mission table quests. Rather enjoyed the talking head on those. “And done”.
Think I got to level 20 and stacked up about 45k coins.
And yeah, it really racks up and even if you did do all the quests and ran out of stuff to do, ore/herbs are actually rather good. They’re giving me about 50 bronze and 60-80 IP, while Rich nodes (which don’t show as such if you mouse over them, but you can tell by the model of the node itself) will yield double IP.
Blizzard didn’t actually intend for people to cap their gear in MoP remix the first week.
Froggers created an insane power gap immediately that then took weeks for other people to sort of catch up to. You never really catch up in an infinite power grind, but the gear upgrades at least had a cap to catch up on.
Heroic world tier already feels easy at 580 ilvl. It would be odd to just start one shotting things in the test of a “hard” outdoor mode within days of its release. I imagine the content timegate is also meant to limit how fast you gain power. I assume item levels go up in each phase (which prevents the MoP remix situation entirely).
i was going to agree with you when i hit level cap since i was still getting 571 gear but then i did a bit more content and im already getting 591 gear after a couple of hours. its actually way faster to gear up here than it was in mop.
