This was the line for me. Gave me Rowan from Viva La Dirt League vibes.
Everyone in beta saw this… there were weeks and weeks of feedback asking them to change their horrid slow-grind timegated design but devs refused. This is the “Fixed” version btw, the previous iteration before the final week of beta was much worse…
Maybe because the devs saw a bunch of whiny brats wanting instant gratification?
The way it is on Live is fine.
You’re missing the point of the OP’s post. They’re not saying that they want to be maximally powerful -now- today, they’re saying that the grind seems like it might not be fun.
I hit level 80 last night and groaned out loud when I realized the ilvl grind that awaits me.
Sometimes, people can look at a task before even starting it and realize that it’s not going to be fun. I definitely agree here that gear farming seems like it will be a really big slog this time around and it instantly made me feel much less positive about this event.
MoP remix was fun because you could upgrade your gear. At least for me that was a huge part of the fun. You can’t upgrade your gear at all this time around.
Also we’re flooded with epics that aren’t epic. The event feels like a mess. Not a good impression.
And by the way, you confuse critique with complaint. If I say I don’t like chocolate ice cream I’m not complaining. I’m saying I’m more likely to pick a different flavor.
You also seem to not understand the difference between a critique and a complaint
Sounds like a genuine case of a skill issue, I’m having a blast with the grind and am enjoying this way more than MoP remix by a long shot
Is there any difference in the amounts between normal and heroic (whatever it’s called)?
I doubt it, but I can’t say for sure. I doubt they want people going into Heroic just to pick some herbs for bronze/IP.
Bronze seems to rewarded at a nice rate… player power not so much. Then they timegated a bunch of stuff to force taking it slow.
Apparently in December they are adding catch up mechanics. I think ill finish the quests and zones and call it done.
IMO, I would just finish the campaign and then just do the daily dungeons and maybe a few infinite researches to keep the bronze flowing. You don’t wanna be “OMG 30 days left but I still have 50 items to buy!”
Lol pretty much this.
There’s alot of flaws at the endgame right now.
Lack of WQ’s unless you do loremaster on most zones
The stats this time around are much much less open and very strict it’s mostly stamina but the damage remains the same until you get more ilvl on your weapon or more of your top stat for your spec or higher ilvl gear which right now is also odd how it works.
For a “fun” game mode that has the raids timegated they shouldnt have gated the first endgame activity (world quests) behind loremaster.
They missed a Chance for the “Skips” to add in an “Anndd it’s gone!” line.
God Forbid you should have to actually do what Eternus asked you to do and explore the timeline, IE, relive the events of Legion, lol
definitely not MOP remix. That was great. This is already boring and I’m not even lvl 40 yet.
Ah yes doing hundreds of quests that take forever because of RP, Bugs and various gating… in the time limited just for fun game mode.
BTW all these quests can be done on retail and could be done at any point in the past 8 years.
Similar thoughts from most of the people I know that where on MoP remix constantly. I just spent nearly 2 hours grinding quests, dungeons and raids only to end at basically the exact same point I started.
You are supposed to do Loremaster. It’s the main and best way to power up while leveling. If you don’t want to finish the zones, don’t play Remix.
You would have to try not leveling to finish all of loremaster LONG before level cap.
Also for these “just do the quests” people. I have been and my gear is not improving. Meanwhile there are people well over 600 ilvl.
Thusfar, I have Aszuna done and it worked just fine.
It doesn’t take “forever”. It’s only Day 2 of 103 and I have 1 of the 5 zones done, about to do Val’sharah next, and back when I used to level alts there, I’d usually finish that zone in about 4 or so hours, and that’s without the overpowered stuff.
Once you’re at level cap, quests that aren’t Infinite Research tasks don’t award gear over 578 or 584, one of those two numbers. So, yeah, it’ll feel like it slows down, but Infinite Research is the primary gear chase mechanism at level 80 outside the instanced content itself. Just keep picking up tasks while prioritizing achievements which award Infinite Knowledge, and it does keep improving. I’m already seeing 620 drops from those sources.
I’m at knowledge 19 right now as well and the IP gain feels pretty decent (with the 100-stack Fragmented Mementos’ reward giving about 95k IP at that level). It’s a grind, but so was MoP Remix to a degree.
The Infinite Research quests are like 12-18 (I have 12 now but I see another achievement which increases it again so I assume 18?) a day too, so once you get the IK going, it ain’t hard to replace half of your kit daily with 12-18 of those boxes as each Research gives you a box.
I vastly prefer this over Remists where you had to keep upgrading gear with the same currency you wanted to buy aesthetics with, I didn’t really like that system very much.
I’d much rather grind a permanent buff like IK by just … well, just doing content. Checking achievements off for permanent buffs.
Though I wish there was a screen where it told you these stats. You can see your current artifact level, you have to click on bronze to see how much bronze you have (or visit a vendor), and AFAIK I can’t find anywhere where it says or explains what exactly IK even is or does (I didn’t know what that meant until I started reading posts here).
