Grilled Cheese Sandwiches & WoW

When you are making grilled cheese sandwiches prior to a night of playing World of Warcraft, do you use sliced cheddar, sliced American, or that amazing individually-wrapped American “singles” cheese product?

Or do you use something different?

[added later] … also, do you use margarine or butter?

The correct answer is mayo

Never heard of anybody frying the sandwich end components in mayonnaise.

Try it. It’ll change your life.

So mayo is not as disgusting as you think inside a grilled cheese.

The substance in fact bonds with whatever cheese you use to create a creamy, dreamy, sensational grilled cheese.

Only a thin layer on each slice of bread though, don’t just glop it on.

Sliced cheddar or provolone, sourdough bread ,buttered to a nice melty toasted gold

If anything you should only get them assembled, don’t cook them all at once.

You want to have them hot and fresh so prebuilding them so that you can just slap them into a pan helps cut time without settling for a meh grilled cheese tomorrow.

I use mayonnaise and cheddar; sharp inside and grill with butter outside. do not knock it till you try it.

I do sliced American, sometimes toss in some cheddar with it if I’m feeling fancy.
I use Country Crock spread(wife’s preferred butter substitute), it works really great in a cast iron and I’m not a fan of the taste of vegetable or canola oil on a sandwich.
Sometimes add a deli meat, but then it’s more of a melt than a grilled cheese.

I have been known to dip my sandwiches in ketchup and rarely mustard from time to time.

Havarti and Provolone cheese, mayo on the inside, butter to crisp the outside.

If I wanna get crazy, slap some pesto on the inside as well

Sliced colby jack with one slice of American (the 2% kind), wheat sandwich bread and cooked in butter. This is the way

Idk about this mayo thing, either inside or outside… Might try it sometime though.

It works because there is oil in the mayo. Don’t use miracle whip though its not mayo.
