Really another attack on flying with this npc. Why do you hate flying so much?
I cannot believe you’re doing this, a npc that gives us a stacking debuff that slows us 30% per stact and can stack to 11. We would move faster crawling. Just rip the bandaid off Blizzard remove it all, Flight paths, portal, the flight master whistle and flying and while you at it just remove all mounts and make us rp walk everywhere. Remove everything that lets us travel faster.
Just do it so it’s done and over with and we can all unsub and you will have the game you want. It will be everything you dreamed of except populated.
Just dont fly close enough to aggro it. Its not an attack on flying, its an attack on afk flying. I for one, would love to see flying more engaging since we really havent had any good zones like Storm peaks or Icecrown in a long time. Nazjatar was clearly designed with flying in mind, and thats one of the reasons why it was a very well designed zone. It may have been terrible trying to navigate on the ground, but so were Storm Peaks and Icecrown.
If we are going to have flying, I am of the opinion that it should be engaging, not a convenience.
I agree. I’d love to see dangerous skies! Things like npcs that attack or try to dismount you. Or debuffs for flying into certain areas. Or even some positive stuff, let me hit a jet stream that speeds me up. Or fly through a druids grove getting a small hot.
I am hoping in SL, the Maw will have creatures that are 10 times worst than this. Otherwise, big deal. No every piece of content must require flying in it.
In 8.3, the zones Uldum & Vale of Blossoms have elite worms flying around that, if you get too close, hit you with a 3min debuff that stacks up to 11x. Each stack lowers your flight speed by 30%.
It’s a nice concept, introduces some danger to afk flying – however the problem is the range is extreme. You can be 1 foot off the ground just hovering and get hit with this aura by a worm near the ceiling of the zone. Range of the debuff aura needs tuning.
