Great worm from Beyond, another Attack on Flying

Because Blizzard hates flying and does not have a war going on against flight paths, all blizzard would have to say is flight paths are bad and all the anti flight people will trip on each other trying to be the first to agree.

Why ? It doesn’t make the game more fun. And what’s wrong with someone going afk to take a bathroom break anyway ?

Try doing that with something that hits hard and slows you each time it does. Being in tank spec wont make a difference. And I like that.

This change was also welcome…on the forums where players saw the great new opportunities posed by an enhancement of nuanced game play and…

no. It was an ishshow…obviously

Because thats what flight paths are for.

It’s a flight speed debuff - currently @30% if the above poster is accurate - so after you get three times you are essentially hovering.

Why though. What makes a flight path good and being on your own mount bad for the game ?

Being on your own mount already involves people more in the game than the flight path.

I know. I meant that ground travel isn’t engaging, since they said that flying mounts should be as engaging as ground mounts.

This is in old content? Oh come on Blizzard, Shadowlands would make sense because of death and all, but do old zones seriously need this?
Sure, we can avoid it, just seems ridiculous and uneeded. (Also don’t see how this is a defense against afk flying? Why is this even a problem? People get busy irl, they go to the bathroom or get a glass of water, it shouldn’t be punished with slow flyingl)

Because flight paths have limited access and destinations and cost you a taxi fee, while manual flight can be used anywhere outdoors with no additional charge after training. If you want convenience, then flight paths are there for you. If you want control, then stay in control and dont afk.

I’m not sure if this affects players below 120, since all of the 8.3 content in those zones requires level 120 players.

Actually… this could be cool.

Ditch pathfinder, let folks fly from the beginning BUT make it dangerous until we clear the skies.

That would be awesome.

Isn’t this the exact kind of thing players have been asking for as an alternative to path finder? Also is this terribly different than the flying robots in mechagon?

And so… did they forget player agency was good and no control was bad ?

You make a very good point with this. I dont remember seeing nearly as much outrage with the flying robots in mechagon as I see currently with this worm. Its essentially the same thing in the end, an obstacle that you can easily avoid.

I often point myself in the direction I am going on the ground and hit numlock and then alt tab to the forums…

The effect is different but personally I’d rather be slowed than murdered. /shrug

There were posts made about those as well.

The effect is different yes, but both are an inconvenience if you arent paying attention. I would love to see more dangerous skies and more zones designed with height deviation due to being designed with flight in mind.

Presently there are far more worms in the zones than robots in Mechagon. Also, the debuff on Mechagon lasts seconds and disappears immediately if you land. The debuff from these worms lasts 3min, and refreshes with each stack. Landing does nothing.
