Two of my favorite malapropisms come from Mike Tyson after he lost to Lennox Lewis in the early 2000s.

When asked about Lennox and the fight Mike said that Lennox was great and “I take my hand off to him”

When asked what was next in his career or life, Mike answered, “I don’t know… I might just fade into Bolivia.”

Oh and just a little something from where I grew up. This conversation could actually take place:

A: “Y’all gon’be heah f’supper?”
B: “Well we might could. Fred, if he come, heewanna go.”

Translation:
A: “Are all of you coming over for dinner?”
B: “We may attend. If Fred arrives, he would want to.”

I love “might could”.

“All of a sudden” is correct.

When I hear people say “all of THE sudden” I shudder inside.

I also shudder when people from Illinois ask me for a “scissor” and not “the scissors” or “the pair of scissors”. It’s like they just said “Put on your pant to cover your butt.”

pantS!
scissorS!

Argh!
