I have a GeForce GTX -1050 GPU and a AMD FX-8350 CPU AM3+ socket - 18 megabites. I noticed once in awhile in BFA while flying ground effects would be shaky. Not very often.
Now in SL I notice it a lot. Will a better Graphic Card correct this such as a ‘EVGA GTX-1650 keeping the FX-8350’ - AM4 socket. Since the GTX-1050 GPU is the top of the line for an AM3+ socket, would an AM4 socket CPU (AMD RYZEN 5 3400G 4-Core 3.7 GHz Socket AM4) with motherboard, keeping my GTX 1050 GPU, be the best thing to do? Money is always an issue.
Other wise, is the GPU more important or the CPU? I’m tired of the shaky ground effects when flying from flight master to flight master. It’s going to be the same pain when flying is unlocked in SL.
WoW tends to be heavily GPU bound. Using an RTX 2060 Super and a Core I9 and I have rarely seen the CPU pipe up other than during loading screens. Prioritize the GPU, and go with a cheaper CPU upgrade.
As a person who also has to worry about money, I recommend staying with the GTX 1050… Maybe Activision-bli$$ard will invent the Virtual Reality World of Warcraft retail super mega chemically enhanced product with GMO’s sprinkled on top that we all deep down want.
That’s what I’ve read about my GeForce FX 1050 GPU. Darn good GPU that I’ve read, and I’ve read it’s great for overclocking, which I don’t do. Like my Super Gamer Son said, my CPU is the bottle neck. So, I’m going with a new Ryzen 5 CPU, motherboard and 16megs of DDR4 Ram, keeping my GeForce 1050 GPU. Maybe later I’ll spring for a better GPU. Thanks for the suggestions, y’all.
don’t matter what you run wow will cause issues somewhere cause the game engine is garbage. pvp world boss keys whatever, you can have plenty to run this game but still get issues, welcome to online gaming and junk servers they don’t put the money into to keep stuff from happening.
Just ordered a Ryzen 5, MSI motherboard, 16meg of RAM. Keep my GPU. $436, I already have a newer gaming case with 4 LED fans. I’ll think about a new GPU later.
They’re hard to find now with all the nonsense going on in the gpu market. I bought a brand new Sapphire (considered the best version) 8gig Rx580 off New Egg for $199 with borderlands 3 included for free. Same card today is $599 on new egg and $550 on amazon. It’s an older card the equivalentish newer rx 5500 xt is $600-$700. Absolute bananas.
Historically that has been the case.
I know next to nothing about this, but I have a Intel i9 7900x 3.7GHz and a RTX 2080 super.
I am unsure if there is a vast power difference between the two, but the CPU is always under a considerably heavier load than the GPU. The GPU barely even moves with WoW, even when recording and streaming using GPU encoding.
Again, I am not the person to ask, but based on the history I have had with this game, I would consider CPU to always be the limitation of all Blizzard games.
Between the bit coin farmers, COVID shutdowns, and Trump trade wars things aren’t looking good at the moment. It’s easier to find an affordable GPU with a pre-built system then on it’s own. Almost tempted to get a pre-built, gut the parts, and sell the rest myself…hic!
