That’s still going to take time to sort out. You still have the COVID and coin farmers hammering away as well. It’s easier to make a mess of things then it is to clean them up. Worst part is the parts shortage is also impacting automakers now as well as GPUs and they get first pick over computer part makers…hic!
Just an FYI, I was thinking of just upgrading my GPU. A VGEA GeForce GTX 1660 is about $550 at Newegg. Much more powerful than my GeForce GTX 1050. But I’m happy I went with a new CPU Ryzen 5, MSI board and 16 RAM which cost less than the GPU alone. Just saying.
Probably for the best . GPU prices are so expensive right now. I got my RTX 2060 for $300 a year or so ago I wouldnt touch 1660 for 550$ unless you are super desperate.
I’m thinking this is a chance for Intel to one up AMD. While Intel graphics are well… there. Getting a new system with Intel means you at least have something integrated unlike the AMD CPU’s at this point. I know it’s not saying much but if the GPU prices keep getting insane it might actually have some impact…hic!
How much RAM are you running? Could be the issue over cpu/gpu.
Try going to the “Can You Run It” website at systemrequirementslab dot com. It will check your system and recommend upgrades.
I’m running 16mb of Ram now, and will with the new parts. Too late to run systemrequirementslab dot com. My stuff is ordered and on the way.
The FX series of AMD chips had notoriously poor Single Core performance which WoW leans on heavily. The 1650 is honestly solid enough to play WoW well at 1080p and get 60fps. If you’re noticing stuttering its almost certainly being caused by your CPU. Another thing to be aware of is that GPU prices are currently skyrocketing due to cryptocurrencies so upgrading your CPU/Mobo will likely be cheaper.
TLDR. Upgrade your CPU, you’ll see the largest performance gains.
Amen. That’s what I’m up to.
Thats an AM3
I can confirm that your GPU is absolute garbage. It’s time for an upgrade.
Personal experience, CPU will drastically improve overall performance but you will definitely want to upgrade GPU later because some things this game uses will slog your GPU currently whenever particle effects are in use. If you seen those particle effects from crap mobs drop on the ground. You know, that bright green slime from Plaguefall, that will tank everything because that’s a graphical related process. I use a GTX 1050ti and it isn’t enough. Oh, for those stating, “Lower particle effects”, yeah… Doesn’t help at all.
You should try with 32gb ram and see if it helps. Will be the cheapest upgrade.
I Run the same CPU, I Get it too, Im so used to it though. Problem is, CHange a CPU, your building almost a whole new PC, Might be able to reuse SSD’s and Power supply if its already a 600-800w.
Why don’t ya tell me how ya really feel about it. Not the best one out there, but it’s not garbage. I’ll upgrade when my ship comes in.
Oh, unless you want to send me $575. The I’ll get right on it.
I’m just being honest with you. The GTX 1050 is a really low-power card. Get a GTX 1660 Super or an RTX 2060 Super if you don’t want to spend a lot of money.
More than $550 for one and I don’t have it right now. I do realize that a 1660 is in my future, but not the near future. Gotta save up. I accept you’re soft apology.
My bad. They didn’t used to be that expensive. I got my RTX 2060 for $350 in 2019.
That’s a crazy price for that card. I bought a GTX 1660 super in April 2020 for $239.99 and that was already too much lol. No way is it worth $550 now. That’s just crazy. Prices on gpus have gone nuts.
Nobody asked it…but how much RAM do you have? That could be your issue as well. Granted your CPU probably needs an upgrade, you are barely above the minimum CPU requirements
