Got past WOW51900328 using a VPN

Was troubleshooting why I couldn’t log on at all. Turned my VPN on that I use for connectivity issues in game to try it out. Using NordVPN, was able to turn it on and log onto the server like normal. I would turn it off and it would go back to the same error. My guess is blizzard had to block IP addresses associated with the DDOS and if you can’t get on, you probably won’t be until they lift it.

Sadly I am tight on money and dont have a VPN so Blizzard saying “screw you” to me, got it.

I was just gathering this info before you posted btw, but thanks for the affirmation.

What ISP are you using, the large thread is starting to see Verizon, Comcast, and AT&T pop up alot…

Verizon. Live out in the middle of a wheat field and only service I have is from a cell phone tether.

Tried using Windscribe VPN, no luck. I’m on Linux, though, and Linux users are experiencing a different problem I believe (TLS blacklist for GNU TLS on Linux as opposed to an IP address blacklist).

“Logging in to game server”
I am tethered to my phone while playing at work. Using AT&T as my provider. Can’t get passed the “Logging in to game server” screen at login. Please resolve this issue.

What kind of job is this?

Ummm the best kind.

What &$^#*es me off, is, can’t they do the blacklist and allow an exception of… you know, PAYED ACCOUNTS through?!? i’m sad.

Unless the attack is intricate enough to bypass account security,… which obviously most people are playing right now, so that’s not the issue… sadness , it should be a legit solution, IMHO. But i’m less than a noob at programming.

I use PDAnet+ tether off my phone. I just downloaded Proton VPN its free and it let me right on in

Yup the automated response to the DDoS attack has them banning a bunch of ISPs (cellphone carriers) and somehow OSs (linux).

Glad it worked for you but I tried this exact thing, proton VPN + PDAnet and did not work, same result.

Proton + PDANet worked for me, thanks!

ProtonVPN + Foxfi did not work for me.

Did you use a US server, by chance? I’ve been switching around some, but haven’t had any luck.

im using windscribe rn. takes a bit for it to actually connect. try again.

“Logging in to game server”
Still unable to connect.

It is discouraging that we are figuring out that the likely cause of us not being able to play is Blizzard intentionally blocking us. I understand they have to take some steps to stop and prevent the DDoS attacks, but this is ridiculous. on a free to play game, sure, but we are paying subscribers.

Hi,

I live in the Philippines and I’m in the same boat.

I play on Yojamba (Oceanic Server) and have not been able to play for the past 24 hours. Sometimes I can log in for a brief period but time out after a couple of seconds. I’ve tried to connect to the US servers which seem to work normally. Last night i downloaded protonVPN and was able to log into Yojamba and play…however with an extra 100 MS to my connection (I normally sit on 200ms).
