I’ve heard rumblings that they are perma banning people for getting in queue with this can anybody confirm ?
I dont see how they would know, its just a chrome extension. Warden would only see Chrome.exe running on your computer. Is Warden still a thing?
I think if it was bannable they would have mentioned it by now as there have been many topics on this. They just want people to transfer so that there’s no need to log in remotely.
First off that is illegal
Second they can’t prove that
Third they can’t fault players for trying to get in game when Blizz is botching it by having server issues due to their mismanagement.
Players won’t use remote desktop or stay logged in if Blizz didn’t mismanage the servers creating unreasonable Ques. Blizz just has to fix this.
They would have no reason to punish players for using things that do not directly interact with their game or the servers.
Though it does seem that they’re increasing the “random” disconnects. Sat in queue yesterday for 1.5hrs. Got on for 30, afk’d for 10 and was disconnected and put back in queue.
It’s not against ToS. It’s not bannable. They can’t track it unless they’ve lied about the tech they are using.
Remote desktop is you using your PC. If I choose to use remote desktop to flash my screen to my TV and play there, would that be an issue? No, it definitely wouldn’t. What it’s being used for at this moment might be damaging, but it’s not the core issue of the problem, and its general use outside of these niche times is completely fine.
We can’t just expect that blizzard will ban a players solution to logging in. It’s no different than hopping in Q and making dinner and taking a shower, you aren’t expected to look at the Q number slowly drop for 5 hours.
Banning people from the service for using a remote tool is not illegal.
something something third party software
They are able to scan your compute, as per their terms of use.
100% I got in Q yesterday, waited, got in. Told my bud I’d Q AV in 5 minutes, came back after 8 and was at the log in screen. They are doing ‘stuff’.
Its a software to view your computer, not interact with WoW.
Then how does it open up wow and log you in?
You have to select it yourself from your desktop. Remote desktop does not interact with WoW.
You select it…while using the program…?
Sounds like a clear cut case of using third party software.
By your definition the firmware of my mouse is a 3rd party software. It interacts with windows, not WoW.
Since wod they have banned people not perm for bypassing the que by staying loged in.
This is what’s happening not for people remoting in.
Blizzard has no idea what is going on on your comp till you are in game as per privacy laws. There is no way to see the diff between remoting in and a normal login.
Once you are in thou how you stay in is key and yes for example using a script to spam space they do ban for. There is ways that are not spam space thou that are harder to detect to avoid the afk kick.
And blizzard is free to specify which types of third party software they deem appropriate or not. Mouse firmware is fine, but remote desktop is on the chopping block
It’s not, it’s really not. The post above you nailed it just fine.
That you are aware of
No that is lawful massive diff
awww yes, put remote desktop tools on the chopping block because blizzard cant fix there own problems makes total sense…
first off they would need to be able to prove your using remote desktop to actually interact with wow, I use remote desktop for 100s of other things and the service is always running on my PC
