Goodbye Archaeology

Could very well be.

This would probably be likely for that but ultimately they’ve gotten into a corner by taking on now so much. I think they may bring it back though if even in an updated sw/org location. Probably low on their list but I agree with your archeology assertion.

I think they do but probably as I mentioned, low on the priority list or will throw it in as a surprise thing for a patch in tww or midnight etc…

Yup. Or I think it may be the last titan before they do something.

hmm… What a disgrace, like the first aid, thanks Fun police Ion.

Why would that presence ruin the hype that there will be in the next WoW expansion?

Good. Sick of looking for Zin’Roc

Well that’s a dang shame. Delves doesn’t scratch the itch at all.

I want to poke around various maps, earn fun cosmetic rewards, and learn some lore snippets.

Inscription was the one that stung, I had almost every glyph (I was missing either 1 or 2). I also had 1st aid on six or more of my characters, pretty high on most. A couple were tailors so I guess I technically didn’t lose it on them. Just the one archaeologist, he’s not maxed.

Keep looking. Current Arch isn’t going anywhere. They just aren’t going to revamp the profession itself.

Yea it does honestly suck. I thought it was fun. ESO does it way better but WoW was not horrible about it and there were some interesting finds.

We are literally going underground next expansion, and you’re telling me there’s whole civilizations living down there with nothing to dig up?

Come on man!

I think it would be fair to say that I willfully allow myself to forget the moods I used to have towards the end of searching down the last few pristines. Although that’s more about the achievements as the long-term goal than the actual minigame.

But absence makes the heart grow fonder and I leveled a couple of alts in DF most of the way between 60-70 by doing their BfA archaeology.

There’s some odd behavior in the large old irregular digsites that leads me to believe that there’s actually a mathematical flaw in the surveying algorithm. Combined with a few times that archeology has randomly blown up and failure to successfully split it up into expansion-specific skill-ups, I suspect that that it’s a dark cursed corner of the codebase that nobody really likes touching if it can be avoided.

( but I may be infering myself into a complete fantasy … we don’t exactly get deep technical dives on the subject )

Archaeology next to Fishing have been always my most undesirable professions to level in the game. Next to a root cannel without novocaine, I would choose the root cannel.

Fishing does suck. lol

I disagree for one area in ESO while cant remember the name. Spent an entire hour looking for one spot because it got placed somewhere weird and kept pointing me the other direction, mind you it highlighted a large part of the map and full of enemies. That was sometime last spring and that was also the first time i had video game rage.

I love the mini game part before locating the spot though. I also love the actual diggin mini game too . Just hate the finding part.

It was one of the areas in skyrim i believe.

Should have just gotten rid of the hot and cold game and just let you dig around in the area until you come across things.

Like maybe have a digspot and in that digspot you have all kinds of dirt patches to collect from till you exhaust it. I think thats better than hot/cold.

I mean does anyone actually like it honestly?

Some in this thread do! I do too. I’ve still got a bunch to do, as well, which is nice. I’ve been spacing it out.

To be honest/fair…they gave archaeology more than its fair shot. I think it was left relatively completed and in a good state for being something that’s simply a piece of the game you can choose to do anytime (because I doubt most of us did all the archeology achievements/rewards/lore etc)

All ion said was archeology isnt returning in its current “triangulation” form. If it returns it will be redone. It was the worst profession ever, more boring then watching a wall dry.

Yeah delves in no way scratches that itch. Why can’t they be transparent about why they actually removed it?

Bro. 1 year old thread. Why would you do this? You’re a druid, not a DK.
