Good rp guild for a mage?

Hello! I’m returning to WoW roleplay for the first time since pre shadowlands and would love to find a guild or my little pyromancer. Would love a place for her to kinda mesh, maybe learn a bit more of her magic. I remember there was a magic university I think a few years ago. Thanks in advance, no direction is a bad direction!

Personally, I’d pick the good guild. Mages are just too squishy for me, but others like them.

Lol thank you for helping me to spot that typo! XD

Depends on what you are looking for. There are exploration and adventure guilds like Modan Co, merc trading guilds like the Blackwater Company, there are also Scarlet Crusade guilds like Embers Of The Flame, she could easily work with the Argents in the guild the Argent Advance or the Argent Onslaught, there is also a Stone Mason guild, and even military guilds like First Regiment.

Your character can have a lot of applications and value in many different guild settings. Perhaps you might better define what you desire in rp? That will help us steer you in the right direction

Well, I’ll be honest, I didn’t think there would be so many! I suppose my FIRST choice would be magic themed, but ideally I’d love like… a list of active guilds lol

Hello! If you wish for mage rp there is only one real place I can think of. I am kind of surprised that they were forgotten from the list giving they have been active for I believe 10 years and still going strong. My mage is in this guild and I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough. A good community environment. I’ve made some amazing friends in here.

They have amazing resources that have been written by players to help with all the mage needs you could ask for.

Definitely gotta back up the Magus Senate of Dalaran recommendation. One of the largest guilds on the server and extremely active, with a facet for pretty much any kind of magical activity to some extent, that one would imagine. The various applications (Battlemage aspect, Scholarly aspect, etc) as one would imagine for Dalaran. It has some of the most open accessibility for a character due to how open the Kirin Tor itself is, and has Dalaran as a naturally awesome hub.

I’ll support Magus Senate of Dalaran on that as well. Dudes are mega chill have multiple events a week, play a major part in the Alliance community, and even help those new to mage RP understand and learn the class and lore. Nothing but great people in there and they’ve been super accommodating from the get-go. Don’t complain when you miss events, tons of memes, good conversation, etc.

They’ve also got plenty of amazing resources to help you further your RP as well and what they lack in them others are more than welcome to help expand as well in turn.

I’ll go ahead and give the Kirin tor a try! I was figuring it was more just the politics so I wasn’t sure. Thanks!

The politics play a part of it, but generally it has always come off as optional. You can engage with the governmental side of Dalaran as much as the aspect of the Kirin Tor that conduct magical research and such.

Begone from this thread throwaway toon to accuse subjects without substance.

I mean. K.
The only accusation I’m making is I think Argent Onslaught is cool and is probably the best recommendation of the guilds listed. I also just haven’t seen Modan Co. in a bit, but from what I know they were cool enough too. I also stated, alongside others here, that a guild entirely focused on arcane magic role play on alliance side exists and is fairly active. However if you are referencing my comment on scarlet guilds then I can’t blame you for not having interacted with the Scarlet RP community a ton. I have a low tolerance for a community when it’s most active participants commonly and casually throw around derogatory slurs and participate with derogatory behavior IC. I, personally, would spend my time elsewhere, and I’m not going to apologize for not taking kindly to being called slurs amongst other obscenities. I get enough of that in real life.

This is wildly off topic and incredibly disrespectful to OP. I get you’re trying to be helpful but this isn’t the place for this.

I believe a fair warning of a guild that is being recommended is justified and on topic. Though you are correct, it is rude to OP and I should not have responded to the off-topic reply made to my post.
To return back to the topic of the thread.
For alliance side, active guilds I’m aware of that would be accommodating to Mage RP on alliance side would include Citrine Eagle, Magus Senate of Dalaran, Eversong Accord, and Argent Onslaught. I am unaware of specifics pertaining to guilds on Horde side Moonguard, though personally, I haven’t had any bad dealings with them and their community at large is pleasant.

Magus Senate of Dalaran is one of the most established mage guild on the server. Their RP is their title, and they RP primarily in Dalaran.

Do you know if broken isles or northrend Dalaran?

Broken Isle now. They have events every week and they range from Senate meetings (runnings of the city) to lectures and lessons, to extreme mage adventures all over.

Officer of MSoD here; everybody is right - our first priority is, of course, politics as we roleplay the government of the Magocracy of Dalaran. That is not to say, however, that there isn’t a fair amount of magic and alchemical-RP that happens outside of that. We have several events on the calendar for this (and the upcoming) week - of which you’re more than welcome come and attend (Senate meeting, potion classes, magical archeology, spellcrafting, etc).

We also have a great relationship with the other guilds on the Alliance side; if you decide MSoD is not for you, we maintain a positive working relationship with both The First Regiment and The Citrine Eagle; more militaristic-styled organizations that also have good magical sects. We have a forum post here, I believe two or three below your own should you want more information.

I have a friend in Magus Senate and they seem to really like it there. I’d agree with the above comments.

If you ever get tired of noble high bow tea, talks of political matters, and dealing with a smudge on your glasses; I know several groups that would enjoy someone that can set fire to the world.
