I legit have seen maybe 3 fairy costumes in-game so far. Doesn’t seem as common as people are making it out to be.
But anyway, that sucks about your friend but those of us that were around for the days of the star pony knew this was going to happen.

I have a hunter alt I maintain and farm mog on.
All Hunter tier is massively better than this shop mog. As is all leather gear.
Even Nillah’s downright atrocious druid mog is thousands of times better than this shop mog.
It looks completely atrocious. It’s vile.
They are valid reasons to be upset, but they won’t do anything other than unsubbing for a month then come crawling back because they went through withdrawal.
I’m sure the HK Student who was abducted and sent to mainland appreciates the fact that some fat American has unsubbed from his videogame. I’m sure the Secret Police will be trembling in their boots. They won’t dare send the HK’er to be “re-educated”.
That implies that it’s easier to expect the entirety of an online community of millions of anonymous people to behave and respect your humanity, than it is to press the ignore button.
Of course people shouldn’t be jerks, especially over silly butterfly wings, but there is no way you can get someone in trouble for saying “stupid wings bro” and then having them quit the game. I’d unsub after so many random BG’s just to get people who annoy me a vacation.
