Gold Trading - Clear answer is needed!

It will likely be a violation, but I doubt this will happen often as there is no way to hold both parties accountable.

What’s stopping Billy from robbing Patrick after one of them receives their gold?

But the player recieving the gold hasnt had to do the work in that game for it. It does have a destabilising economic effect in the game.

Either way, this is moot until a blue can clarify, go and read all the posts…

Real life farming time is the best equivalent. You can reasonably get 30 gold an hour in Classic. If you can make 15k an hour in retail, then we would expect something around 1000:500,000.

1M for 1k isn’t that far off really, because people will have large BFA gold stores saved up. 100ish bucks for an Epic Mount sounds worth it to me.

Its not going to be a discreet activity though.

If its not banworthy, trade chat is going to be flooded with people doing gold swaps. Blizzards going to get constantly asked if thats allowed or not.

And if I kill a random wolf and get a very valuable Rare, post it on the AH, and get gold for it, what work in game did I really do? Or someone accidentally mails me some Purple Lotus, and I keep it and AH it? The economy isn’t destabilized because I got gold without working for it, because the gold already existed in the economy and will continue to exist in the economy moving to someone else as I buy things … unless I spend it on a gold sink.

2015 was a very different time and with many expansions, thus much easier a time farming for gold.

Very different from 2006 days (which is the patch time period we are on) when gold seller prices were in fact much higher.

Your buying gold for gold in classic. It is against TOS

Sigh…please read through the entire thread, your answer is up there.

Correct, and from what Blizz has already stated, their tech and ability to detect and find gold seller accounts are far superior to what they were back in 2006.

I think there is a really good chance that anyone buying gold will get caught and get account suspensions until they simply close your account for multiple violations.

Honestly I would make it a “zero tolerance” and give everyone fair warning, if you get caught buying gold, your Classic account is forfeit and you will need to get a new account set up if you want to play it again.

Yeah no, that was supposed to say 2005 my bad. Gold prices in 2005-2006 in Vanilla were about $10-$15 per 100 gold. Typed on my phone and wrote 2015 rather than 2005.

Already got forum silenced at least once just for talking about it, so it’s pretty safe to assume they won’t like you advertising it in the game.

(DISCLAIMER: THIS USER HAS NOT TOLD YOU TO TRADE GOLD IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM.)

Ahhh, silly typos! Well even at those rates, I wouldn’t want to risk action taken against my account, but you will always find some who doesn’t care and try =)

I’m not advocating trying, was just provide a counterpoint to the people claiming that Vanilla gold was $1 per 1 gold, which would be absolutely outrageous lol. I imagine if exchanges happen like 2 months or so from now it’ll be like 100k retail for 100 on Classic.

Please reply Blizzard.

This should be a bannable offense. It’s exchanging goods or services outside of World of Warcraft, and World of Warcraft: Classic.

It’s no different than buying gold. Just has a different flavor.

Classic WoW isn’t World of Warcraft. It’s a different game entirely. It’s no way the same as trading across a different server.

The EULA allows trading in game items and currency within the “Platform” and the “Platform” can be anything from an app, a game, or everything under Battle net. So it is entirely up to how Blizzard chooses to interpret it for Classic WoW. There is no clear answer to be had.

It would be really odd if Blizzard wants us to use 3rd party sites to exchange gold…

Check bnet client. It is treated as a different version of the same game there.

gold isn’t created out of thin air - you literally can’t bring gold into this game from another it just doesn’t work…

Gold sellers who sell gold don’t create it out of thin air either - it came from within this game.

I don’t think you know what you are talking about really.

Its simple really, if you don’t want gold farming to happen, then don’t buy gold. those looking to get a easy pass face consequence’s of 1. Scams. 2. Bans. or my favorite Both.

May Justice be served in accordance.
