Gold to opposite faction

I have 100k on my Horde toon on Tich. Can I mail it in game to my Alliance toon on Tich? Everyone said yes in my guild but no one has actually tried.

(i would try with like 1gold but I am at work until 10PM, so asking)

Yes, as of last year sometime you can now mail gold to yourself (on the same realm or realm group) cross faction. I believe it also works to btag friends, but I’m not 100% sure on that.

You can now mail items and gold cross faction under these conditions! Assuming the other character is on the same realm (or connected realm). Your other characters on your account. A BNet Friend who is on the same server. I have not tested it if it can be done if you are in the same community as someone that is a BNet Community.

I remember the old days when you had to post transactions on the Goblin (neutral) AH to shift gold between Horde and Alliance characters on the same account. A horde toon could post linen cloth for 10K and an alliance toon could buy it. Works vice versa too.

you couldn’t transfer funds via the Goblin AH between factions by yourself.
You needed a separate account in the middles to handle either the posting or the payment and needed an arrangement with the owner of the separate account to not run off with either your money or your goods.
