Gold Tipping PSA - Enchanting

sell your enchants through the AH and stop being a beggar.

I hate tipping.

I hate the culture behind it. It’s stupid. It’s just an excuse to pay your servers less. You deserve a standard wage for Enchanting.

Which is? The same that I get for blacksmithing: Absolutely nothing outside of AH or vendoring.

I tip well,

But it would be better to police your own
I ask once in trade and 5 people instantly message me so competition and free market are working against your cartel.

As bad as the Uber eats drivers wanting a 20$ tip on a 15$ order. Be happy with what you get

I tipped a guy who made my shoulders 30g. I went to him. He even got a skill point. It took him less than 30s. They were happy. I didn’t do it because its like a quest, because it’s not. I did it because I felt like it. It’s a tip, not a service charge

What you describe is a FEE not a TIP. The fact is a TIP is given for the quality of the service.

I believe restaurants should pay living wages, like they used to before we normalized the customers paying the majority of their wages.

but then I couldnt mess with servers by witholding their earnings, which doesnt sound as fun or enjoyable for my eating experience.

My brother in law is a barber he doesn’t accept tips, you know why? He charges what he feels he is worth, why leave it to the customer to determine your worth, if you want x amount of gold then say so, other wise be grateful you get anything at all. a tip is a tip, 1g to press a button is more than enough of a tip.

I tip 10-15% of cost of mats. Is that acceptable to you?

That’s called a service fee, not a tip. Just say you’re charging a fee.

for that kind of cheese i expect a happy ending

Tipping 20g is way too high for many PvPers unless BGs awarded 40g+ every win. Arenas 10g every win. You expect me to go on “quests” with my limited time in Classic WOTLK remake?

Who can afford the enchant mats alone? Berserker is like 2.5k gold.

Just to rock the boat, mages were getting 500g tips for dalaran portals on launch week. I never asked for payment, that just seemed to be the avg rate people agreed on. Sure some tipped 100, some also tipped 1000.

People like you should pay it forward then - people who actually have more than 2-5k net worth in a dying game should tip hefty. Where normal casuals can barely tip 5g.

You should legit give beggers gold instantly with the amount of charity given to you for a dalaran port.

This is why I exclusively sell enchanted vellums on the AH. I make a lot more gold and I don’t have to deal or haggle with cheap players thinking that they should have free access to my profession.

Oh I tip anyone min 50g if I am having them make me something, bare minimum, more if its multiple crafts obv or a hard to get craft.

It’s also a front load of all portal sales for the xpac, because now that everyone has been to dalaran, no one needs portals again.

Sure but having to give 50g for 20 things will be 2 portals you made. I dunno Gold is a hard quantity and I cannot justify OP’s rate. It’s a joke and a shame for people who cannot no life farm or came back after Classic WoW.

You can make 300+ gold per day just doing sons of hodir quests that take ~15-20m, another 80G + raw looted gold if you do daily dungeons.

So your saying I have to do Daily quests and Dungeons so I can scrape by and afford not even the good enchant but the Tip for items? Noones logging on after work to do dailies

What are you smoking? Assuming you leveled with questing rather than dungeon grinding, you made at least 3k there alone. You can make way more than 300g/day if you did ice crown dailies too, and even if you just did sons, thats enough to afford 15 20g tips. I doubt you’d need to re-enchant your entire inventory every day.

It’s pretty minimal effort dailies that you need to do anyway for shoulder enchants.
